I am fairly new to IH8MUD, but have been into Cruisers for about 12 years. I work in the car business in Houston and have made contact with the folks who do all of the leather upholstery fabrication for Gulf States Toyota (the regional Toyota distributor). I am asking them to bid on making me a new set of seat leathers for both front seats of my 40th Anniversary...bottoms are all I need. If anyone is interested in seeing if we can get savings with a group buy, I am thinking we can save some money over the Toyota price. They would use factory patterns for perfect fit and OEM leather. I think we could get either gray, oak or two-tone Anniversary.

Email me direct at jreiss@jimreiss.com if you are interested. Serious inquiries only.

Jim.

Jim

I did a lot of leg work to try to set up a group buy on these before christmas. Check the attached threads. I ended up with 5 or 6 people still interested and I have a list of the names somewhere so PM me . I was planning on reviving the idea shortly with the thought that I might get some more interest so we can get the price down a bit more. If you can get factory seats for a price competitive to these I think you would be able to get 10 people.

IMO cloth is better than '94 leather.

why dont you just have them re-sprayed? Should just cost you $150. per seat

re-sprayed tends to crack easy. Looks good for a bit though, like when you are selling it!

Hi Jim,

I pm'ed you.

Considering that this would have to be less than $480 cover to beat OEM this could be a good deal... well unless it's $450 a cover.

Update>>>>The delay in this project has been waiting on these guys to locate the dark brown 40th Anniversary leather so they could price it and give us a quote for all of these as one job. They called me today and said we should have a quote by the end of next week if the sample they have coming matches the way they expect it to. I will post an update here once I get pricing and I will also post a new group buy thread. If anyone else sees this and is interested, just watch this thread.

Bueller?

I am definitely interested in this....as I was Semlin's original thread...so if this gets serious....please PM me...
