So I have been eyeing a new console for quite some time. After reading some threads, I decided I wanted to buy the Ultimate Locking Console from VDP. I had put it on the back burner for a few months, then my girlfriend bought it for me this past christmas.

Here are some pics, and this is where I she got it - http://www.quadratec.com/products/14030_09_07.htm . It was around $70 or so, and once I measured and drilled the holes, it bolted right in.

I've been contemplating this one, how does it work for an arm rest? Too high, too low?

Thanks, and looks great btw!

Here is one more pic. While the material is not the greatest, I think it is worth the price. It also comes with an icebox, coin and sunglass holder, and 4 cupholders. The pad on top also makes a good armrest.

Looks good Calphi!

Is that the same as this one? Trying to figure which color would look best

How does it work with your rear heater? Did you do any fabbing?

What did you do with the Heater switch in front, and the temp selector in the back?

RedCruiser - yeah that looks like the same one

I had to bend the temp control 90 degrees to make it clear. I also added two 2 inch rubber spacers on the rear bolt holes to make the thing level.

For now, the heater on/off switch is located under the front cupholder (hanging loose) until I can find a place to put it.

Like I said earlier, the material is not anything fancy. If this one ever breaks, I think I am going to make one. It looks like it is just a wood frame with vinyl and foam stapled on to it. But for $70 I am pleased with it.

I really want a new console but can t bring my self to pay for a tuffy and i really like this one that you got. i cant see how you got the rear heater heat selector to work, can you take a picture of the slide thing up close? i really like it and it is a good price. Thanks in advance.

i wish all these great consoles would fit a 60

just an idea of where to put the rear heater switch. i have mine moved for light switches and it works great up in the dash next to the cigarette ash tray. Here is a pic. the switch is the 4th one FYI.

Micah- Don;t forget to post pics after you get it installed. I'm thinking of the black which would go better with the charcoal interiors of our 62's.

consider it done.

I got that same one in my fits great .. make sure to fold your rear seat up before you bolt it in cause it might not fit  and you'll have to move it forward .. not that I did that

As you can see it the pics, I pushed the console all the way forward to the shifter. The rear seat folds down just fine for me. I used 5 various bolts and washers to bolt the console down.

I wish I had bolt sizes for you guys, but I grabbed bolts out of my spare bolts bin that seemed to fit. The hardest thing was measuring where to drill the holes so the would line up to the stock locations.

what about where the floorboard goes off level? you know, where the 62s have the floor heater but we dont.
is that not an issue? this is good news to me

Anyone ever seen a console to fit in front of the non-US double wide passenger front seat? If you're not familiar with the seat I refer to, it is separate from the normal driver's seat and will seat two (with narrow asses), each with a seat belt (the center is only a lap belt). So there's no space between the seats (well, maybe 4 inches), but not wide enough for a useful console. But, there's a little room between the shifter and the front seats. Never seen a console and storage is VERY limited, especially up front. No, I do not want an overhead console, they suck, IMHO.
