Finally hit the scales today and thought I'd post.

I was out of the truck due to their rules so I saw the...
Well, thanks for the replies. With the iso 46 it runs smooth and quiet. What came out was pretty dark. I was just wondering what would be more likely to cavitate.. lighter or heavier.
The pump on my '96 has been whining and though I have a used pump, I thought I would just flush out the fluid first. I've read some good stuff here about ATF vs. hydraulic oil and decided to go with hydraulic oil. I couldn't find the much praised Mobil DTE 24 iso 32 but did pick up a gallon of...
I modded mine (blue) with 10,000 weight oil and turned the plate to make it open sooner. One of the best things I ever did. My a/c feels so much colder. Plus, it's worth it just to see the look on the guys face at the parts counter when you give him the part# for the oil. lol.
I think the pistons are pulled back by the seals once the fluid pressure is lowered. It sounds like you have sticking pistons. If I read that right, the shimmy/vibration is there even without being on the brakes?
eta: I think you would have to have a heck of allot of preload on the bearings for...
your poll doesn't take into account all the options of lift height so I didn't hit it. That being said, I have OME 850 (heavy) with ARB/Warn 12K and dual 2150 odyssey batteries (heavy mo-fo's) and NO correction. It drives and self centers after turns just fine. I think the same springs with out...
I think it was on TTORA I read that each side of the assembly line would install the spark plugs for that side. When one side ran dry of one brand, they would be re-stocked with the other. Both met the required specs so they were interchangeable.
I used a pulley off a york I've been 'storing' for a friend for years (Goob, if you're reading this, thanks for the pulley dude) that is a bit larger than the engine side. It's a reduction. The pulley that came on it is the same size as the engine side but needs new bearings. That will help a...
There are some dried up super old remnants of crud but I don't think they are from the front seal. More likely from a leaky seal on whatever engine it came off of. I'm still working on all the plumbing but I've done a few tests on a 5gal tank to 100 and 130psi and there was no oil coming from...
I'm looking at the FSM('96) and there is a procedure for checking the IAC that tells what wires to use. What do you guys think about putting voltage to it on those wires? I mean, yeah, you could just hit the A/C button but on mine, the A/C compressor load perfectly balances out the increased...
This is relevant to my interests. I was thinking of this just last night as I finally got Landtank's york spinning. I was going to try disconnecting the wire to the A/C clutch and see what happened when I hit the switch. Just to test. Then I was going to just order the damn cable from Slee. lol.
Not anymore you don't. MWUHA HA HA HA...
As you might guess, I bought landtank's kit. I had no idea at the time how I was going to wire and plum this thing but this gives me some ideas.
Things I learned from this write up:
1) It blows a bit of oil at high RPM.
2) It likes to run at...
I had four IPF 868's on a 3/4 rack. Because they sit back just behind the sunroof they didn't glare the hood much. They worked OK but I found them better suited to the bumper due to the mixed spot/wide light pattern. I haven't decided what I'm going to put up there as a replacement. I like the...
