I decided to install some Auxbeam driving lights and an Auxbeam switch panel. I've always run SwitchPro's and chose this option after positive feedback from others for the price. I'm anxious to see how it performs. The quality of the SwitchPros is still hard to beat compared to this so far. I'd...
It may just be the angle of this photo, but it appears the hose clamp at the block may not be on the port completely. I remember when I've done all of mine in the past; they usually sit closer to the block of the engine. Just my .02 cents.
I just updated the post to try and provide a reference...
I finally got around to finishing up my rear door cards and re-upholstery after ambient temps went up a little here. I think they turned out very well. And I'm anxious to see how the waterproof door card material holds up over the years. It was interesting to see how Toyota assembled them at the...
Applying a little bit of heat with a heat gun while removing the material where it is glued to the door cards will help prevent any material separation or tears while removing it from the old door cards. Not a guarantee, but it'll help.
I am paying attention and I've already reached out to see if he's willing to sell the CAD files. After doing a bunch of leg work for him over about a week to work out a trade, he completely flaked. So, that's why I'm making my own now. But, thanks for assuming I haven't. If you want me to put...
Spent the weekend helping out another cruiserhead on his 100 series, and spent some time re-making the rear door cards for my 80. After removing the door panels to replace speakers and installing sound deadening, I realized the retainer pockets had all torn out or deformed since a previous...
I don't personally. I've got a couple of infinity tweeters that I can check out today and see where they might fit. I know some guys have installed them on the upper part of the door panel that is plastic. I'd imagine with your expertise and 3D printing you might be able to print a mirror trim...
After having some experience installing aftermarket speakers in a few LC's over the years, it really depends on what you're hoping to accomplish when you decide to upgrade your audio. Do you just want to replace some crackling worn-out speakers? Do you want more volume? Do you want more bass...
I think our weekend was very similar. I decided to install front and rear speakers with sound deadening. I also replaced the door checks on all four doors. Was surprised when I pulled one and it was missing the actual stopper. Weird what a small difference they make.
The install took a long...
Installed my extended stainless steel brake lines. I also made sure to do the lines at the calipers since I was already there. A bit of a no-brainer if you're using 'old rubber' as an excuse to change out the other ones. This one just seemed like it took longer than previous installs. Now, I...
Spent a couple of hours swapping out my PHH hose since I've already changed out all of the other hoses in the engine compartment. For those of you who haven't done it before, it is a must if you're wanting to do any preventative maintenance that hasn't been done before. The best piece of...
I spent the weekend finishing all of my heater hoses at the firewall, sparkplug tube gaskets, timing cover gasket, spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor, fuel filter, all of the small water hoses, and more vacuum lines than I ever expected. Still need to get the PHH hose installed, saving the best for...
It sounds like I better bring my 80 then since I don't care about the paint and rub some salt in the wound when an almost 30year old cruiser is helping in their recovery.
This brought back some bad memories for me replacing my engine wiring harness on my '94 a couple years ago. I failed miserably after attempting to replace several connectors while it was still on the vehicle. Ended up talking a salvage yard into letting me pull it from a motor they had that was...
