Finally got around to doing this after having the new gasket and seal for over a year.
Overall went smoothly except for one of the pump cover screws. On the second screw my Phillips bit sheared and got stuck in the screw. Had to basically drill it out and then use a speed out to remove it...
Man I wish I was home right now I'd go to Winrock with you guys I live in Knoxville. If you guys still think about doing a group trip I'll be there in mid December through mid January :)
I've never made the trip to Houston but I know alot of people from that area and it doesn't seem like too bad of a drive. I know of at least one other person in my area that would probably be interested in a get together for birfs and just sharing ideas as he just got his 80 about a month ago...
Hey tarbe, where in Texas? I'm in Waco but I'm from Tenn and helped a guy out earlier this year with the birfs and have been meaning to get around to mine as well. I'm certainly not a mentor but I've done the process and have a feel for how it goes.

Doc - the dog used to be a hunting dog and is only one of our 5 dogs. Fortunatly she's the only one that does this but she's chewed lights off of boat trailers and just about anything that sits in the driveway.
Lurker - that is exactly what I had in mind just wanted to see how it actually...
Haha yeah the little bastard used to just chew the shingles off the side of the house but moved on to cars. So far she's managed to chew my mudlfaps and trailer wiring. The sour apple spray seems to be like seasoning to that dog. The bobbed set is exactly what I'm thinking I'd love to see what...
After parking outside all summer my lab managed to chew through both of my rear mudflaps and one front one. I remember seeing a while back that people had trimmed their mudflaps to a certain point to make them shorter and I was wondering if anyone had some pictures of how they did it and what...
I've heard about these drain holes and plugs for a long time but have never been able to ID them on my truck. Does anyone happen to have a picture of them so I would know what to look for in going about clearing them out?
Several months ago I installed the OME medium load suspension that lifted the truck about 2.5''. When I did the install I wasn't sure about the proportioning valve and only adjusted it a few mm (to tell the truth I don't even remember how much). I've noticed since then there's been alot more...
I'm not sure about the wheel bearings but I helped someone rebuild their knuckles this past weekend and I seem to remember the range for the knuckle bearing preload to be 5.5-9.9 lbs. Hopefully someone will confirm me on that. How many miles are you at? I'm about to do my birf repack/knuckle...
Yeah I've the pictures from Rookie2's knuckles and he's overdue for one. I'm just starting to get some buildup and I don't want to wait much longer either at 130k. If you want to join us we could all three get together in Knoxville and get it done at the same time early this summer...
I've been running the OME 2.5" medium load springs for about a year now and have finally decided that it is pretty scary sometimes on the interstate and I want to put in the caster correction bushings. I don't have a press or many tools although I was able to do springs and shocks myself, so...
