Over 2,000 miles of seat time after replacing tons of parts.. rebuilt engine/trans/tcase, all new suspension bushings and shocks/oem springs, pads/rotors and oem calipers, front end etc.. Still needs a full exhaust replacement but for all its worth almost drives like a new rig!
Yes it can be done, yes you can keep your flares! Stock suspension and true 35s went thru the same washout all the Tacoma's did.. daily driving was no issue at all.
Grab a hammer and screw driver, poke around for rot. If everything is solid and the body is good I say go for it! We need more info, to start mileage and asking price.. got a good amount of work ahead of you (ask me how I know).

Finally got the motor, tcase and transmission swapped into Cruiser #5.. and a pic from today 6 years ago that popped up on fb memories. On leave, first day back in the states after being deployed 3 years overseas. buddy’s 250 BARELY got it out
