Extended front wheelbase after SOA and SR problem

Saginaw steering box was mounted according to convention at the time using a kit. Not sure what has changed regarding these setups but the “tilt” downward of its nose is to align its output with the steering rod angle and not bind it up.

Thank you for the replies. I’ll post additional pics if that would help see additional details so I can figure this out. Everything installed was sourced from Downey back when......2002-09.

Extended front wheelbase after SOA and SR problem

Quick question for SOA and shackle reversal guys. My wheelbase obviously grew after this procedure, and I don’t think my pitman arm will move sufficiently L & R to steer while driving around in the city easily, ie make 3pt turns and the like. I have home brew highsteer from 4x4 labs as well...

Mysteries. Main one is why is there no power to cluster via BR? Where does it come from to barrel connector? Gotta find Power source for it too.

I also have this GW wire coming from the new ignition harness that mates to nothing. Also note the LR wire next to the connector that goes to nothing. It’s hot. How is there no power to barrel/cluster via RB I WONDER......? Maybe a missing ground?

Yes that striped wb wire to the left is grounded to chassis right behind fuse panel indeed. LR wire is hot IGN ON or OFF.

191mV with IGN ON, light switch pulled out fully? lights are dimming again with twisting the knob- AWESOME!

Clusters, Gauges, Speedo & Odo meters

Grounded the light switch to the chassis as above and no more headlight dimming via knob! I guess that’s good? My wires are exactly as yours above. Still no illumination to bulbs in cluster though. Wires are correct at barrel connector.

None. Nothing melted but I did I re-wrap this entire harness ans replaces carefully the crumbling connectors where i could with new ones including spade or whatever too, and inspected it all before rewrapping it all inside a protective plastic flexible sleeve, I think it’s called convoluted...

I may have a 76 harness but idk, having owned the 40 since the early 90s, added a 76 tub but kept the 75 cowl, doors and hood, and I need to run the frame VIN. Hey it was only 250 bucks and it lived on a 60,000 acre ranch we leased until 2005 or so. God knows who touched it in Golden CO where it...
