    Brake Lights/Blinker issue identification

Update: cleaned up some wiring and grounded each light at the housing but the primary issue was that my tail light housing was not holding the bulbs securely and that was creating my grounding issues. Lesson: buy good housing - I replaced with OEM housing and things seem to be working solid now.

    Brake Lights/Blinker issue identification

IH8MUD Team, My 76 FJ40 (completely re-wired about 2 years ago) started having the below issues recently, I believe simultaneously and all of a sudden. Wondering if you can suggest where I begin looking to identify the issue as I assume they are all related. REALLY don't want to take it to...

Aux Tank: troubleshooting intermittent fuel flow

Update, think I have something in the tank (gasket material?) stopping up the line in the tank. Guess I will need to remove and clean out the tank unless anyone has found an easier way to do that… As always, advice welcome.

Aux Tank: troubleshooting intermittent fuel flow

Thx, Paul. Mine has pressure but loses flow midstream randomly. That could definitely help but don’t think it’s my primary issue. My guesses are I either have a short in my switch, or I’m missing a wire for that 6th terminal, or it’s a vapor lock issue.

Aux Tank: troubleshooting intermittent fuel flow

I have an FJ40 with a newly installed man-a-fre aux tank set up as a second primary (OEM mechanical fuel pump). Fuel has been flowing fine since install but recently, the FJ has been choking down randomly after I switch to the aux. Front tank works fine so I’ve started working my way back from...

    Surco Spare Tire Rack

Mudders, Searched the archives and couldn't find a thread on this...was wondering if anyone has experience with a spare tire mounted rack for carrying a cooler (I know Surco makes one: linked here). I have an OEM tubular spare tire carrier on a '76 FJ40. I'm always leery of weight on these...

Advice on 1st time swapping engines (2F in '76 FJ40)

Quick question: still switching out all the accessories from 77 2F to the 86 2F; I read an older post where you said you've had no issues with removing the 86 Oil filter/cooler and installing the 77 set-up. Is that still the case? I'm planning to do the same, and also in GA...
