    OEM Front Tow Hooks?

I have an ‘81 FJ40. When I picked it up there was only 1 front tow hook. It appears these came from factory with 2 or were the ‘81s an exception? Are OEM still obtainable? I did a search and it appears the bolts are but unclear if the actual hook is. I’ll concede this shouldn’t bother me...

    Phoenix, Arizona - Repair Shop

Thanks, guys. I agree doing it myself sounds great, but the steering feels to be above my pay grade for what I would be comfortable with. Any other ideas out there? Is it a horrible thought to take it to an actual Toyota dealer? Gasp! As mentioned it is running great otherwise, I drive it...

    Phoenix, Arizona - Repair Shop

Need some other suggestions for Phoenix area FJ40 repair shops? I’ve done plenty searches here but nothing real recent has come up. Desert Toy Shop is recommended but too over worked right now. I’ve been on ‘their wait list’ since April and was just told they won’t have room until next year...

    VCV replacement

I passed emissions but failed the equipment portion due to not being able to run the pressure test. Anyone know what part this is? The white plastic piece broke off so assume I just need to replace the whole thing. The guy running the test said to just replace the evap hose but doesn’t appear...

Love your FJ, JM! Fellow pinhead/arcade enthusiast here too but still on the lookout for my first FJ. I enjoy exposing the kids to the old stuff and looking forward to them facing each other in jump seats one day!

    ‘76 FJ40 in AZ

Thanks for the feedback everyone! So we’ve established that the price is on the high side, what is a fair price for this condition these days? Seems like this is somewhere above Good on the Hagerty scale but not Excellent and Hagerty is listing Excellent at 40k. Thanks again, such a helpful forum.

    ‘76 FJ40 in AZ

Thanks. I noticed that too, is that something that you fee indicates any larger issues? Do you feel this price is just a touch high as a result? also forgot to mention that I am not a fan of that armor, definitely prefer the stock bumpers but current owner has them and willing to change them back.

    ‘76 FJ40 in AZ

I’ve read the buying guide in the FAQs which was a huge help. Been looking for an FJ40 as a weekend joy rider for a while. Wife as a Land Cruiser Widow would not be a problem as she is all in! Was hoping to get opinions on condition and price for this one from the pros? Thanks, guys...
