Please excuse my ignorance but which or what spot welds are you talking about with respect to removal? The only ones I see are those on the under side of the hinge pin receiver/aka the body mount underside that fits to the tub. My pins have been removed (intact) by a friend who owns a auto...
Tucker do you know why?
CDan showed all of the lines (at the backing plate), backing plates and the like to be of the same part number ergo uniform. The only thing different was the part number for the cylinder itself. He was theorizing that the bore would be the different aspect of the...
UPDATE (and this for anyone whomever might run across this question and post- not that you will be as stupid as I was but...):
If you have the PTO gear it will be small spacer inside and large outside next to the washer and stake nut.
If you do not have the PTO gear it will be the long...
Memory lapse  :frown:
On the input on the transfer there are two spacers or one spacer and one "transfer gear stop". One goes on the inside of the case between gear and bearing (if no PTO) and the other outside between the bearing and washer with stake nut.
One is longer than...
I have a transfer case issue with wear on the outer front and rear bearings/races. I have the case appart but need to get the bearings off. Can anyone recomend a tool similar to the SST or workable?
Thx guys. Yeah the drain plug was clean and I found nothing in the oil which was clear still...think I just did the rear axle seals about 6 months ago. Front stake nut is on like a rock. in fact, getting the drive shaft bolts off was tough--everything in the front was way tight.
Going to pull my rear nose cone today I think.
Seems to be some stiffness at points in turning the shaft. It is not the shaft and from the back the ring gear etc. look good. Question is what bearing (s) is it likely to be?
There is now scratching in motion but when driving and rolling...
BTW- it was on the 55 classifieds as well. Though the seller has removed most of the posts. Appears he originally joined just to sell it on the list. Great buy though. And Texx maybe right...but maybe not. my 55 has no greater rust than my 40 and I have seen 60s and 62s worse...so it goes...
And now you can make some of that purchase $ back...maybe all of it with all of your extra parts after a bob.
And so, preemtively, I will shamelessly put in a sales request for cargo panels:rolleyes:
Posted this kind of question before, but:
For a year plus I had this odd harmonic tone (sometimes tones) that seemed to come from the driveline somewhere. Played with the clutch and it was independent of the clutch. You would begin to hear it above say, 10 mph getting louder and changing...
Ok, so I really don't even get the igniter bit, after all, you have a coil, resistor and points...so what is the theoretical function of the igniter...which leads to the old toy sedan igniter that I slapped in my FJ55 under duress as the flippen old after market abortion near electronic...
