1964 Toyota FJ45 SWB Fixed Cab Pickup
I've had it in storage for a decade and never brought it home after an unpleasant experience with a restorer. Time to put it in someone else's care.
Just ordered a set from SpeedwayMotors.com and will post up how this turns out. Passenger side has been intermittent and sweeping about 2-6" depending on how it feels for way too long. With a little luck this'll be just the ticket.
Not sure I totally understand the issue but that trim piece is definitely the answer. Rivet or no rivet I can see quickly that just having one is a major step forward. I also get a lusty feeling when I see these windshields with the wipers down low and a motor / blades that actually probably...
Thanks... it definitely helps and I think I might be missing that red trim piece you have there amongst the tie rods. This would explain much!
Not sure what you mean about a later model fitting tighter. Where would a guy scrounge up a later model top for a fixed cab; or are you planning on...
I'm buttoning up a 1963 FJ45 SWB Fixed Cab p/u and for the last couple years have been driving it with a 54" section of foam pipe insulation in that spot between the top of the windshield frame and the bottom of the roof.
The pipe insulation blows out every once in a while and I'm just amazed...
Very nice find. Congrats. If you're looking for an example of a mint green I've got one and have tossed a pic in here. At first the color wasn't exactly a favorite of mine but as time has passed it's definitely grown on me and I've gotten quite a few comments on it. The color isn't common...
Just remembered that you've mentioned a couple times about having a flooded in box, Mark. I sent you a PM re: same over the wkend but figured it wouldn't hurt to confirm it here.
I'm definitely in !
That difference in the rear lead length is probably pretty small, eh? Here's an example of that difference and the trucks in this pic belonged to WDukes. I think he's since sold at least one of them.
There were at least two versions of the SWB taillight layout. Some had them mounted to the outboard corners roughly midway up the bed. You may have seen an example of that in some pics that Dukes posted of a '45SWB he was selling.
Others (like mine) have round taillights mounted to either end...
With the 45SWB fixed cab a guy definitely has to count biscuits at dinner time. There's nooo room in there. I'm 5'10.5" and about 220 today. It's made for a more compact man than I for sure.
Funny, 1ton.
For the record; I've known Bikerso for a year or so and have had him do some work on a 45 for me last summer (five figures). His work is impeccable and during the entire process I found him to be very honest and straight forward. I recently was ripped off by another LandCruiser...
