Scrapyards in the Middle East are really only searchable in person... I know a number of places you could visit to start the hunt. And you'd likely be able to find them I'm sure. I'm no longer in the Middle East... but if you know someone who is or someone offers up to hunt for you, that is one...
Also, FYI, I've used Carmarka now for a few parts. Since I live in region shipping is a very cheap courier fee. They are selling legit OEM parts though, not fakes. I'm very happy with the prices and the prompt shipping/service.
Buy the re-seal kit... and do it yourself. There's a thread on MUD that helps you. Also, I documented my rebuild of one. But DON'T give it to any local mechanic. And be patient.
Read up here.
Hey Larry... I've shared this thread with some of the guys in a WhatsApp group here in the UAE. I'm personally not in the country this weekend or I'd set something up. But several of the guys know about you being around... they'll reach out to you if they are able to head out this weekend.
How'd you find the shipping company? Did you start from your side of the pond or somehow get a contact in KSA? Was it door-to-door shipping?
I'll be shipping from the UAE soon.
Yes, nice find you got there. That full float rear axle is quite nice. Is it a 5-speed? =)
The brown door trim makes it look to be an LX, but it appears you have jumpseats in the rear. Is it an LX?
The mirrors have their own computer? Yeesh! Glad I have a 40 and 80...
Agree with Desert Nomad on all points. I'd assume 50% priced OEM parts are fake.
Free for pick up or you pay shipping:
60-series Brake Booster
60-series Brake Master Cylinder
40-series Front Drums, Cylinders, Shoes, Knuckles, Hubs, and Steering Arms (the shoes and cylinders are in really good condition... I'd wager new within the last couple years)
I can't bring myself to...
Hmmm... not even sure where I'd start to look here. Probably with an upholstery shop or auto interior shop. They might know where to hunt for salvage parts like that.
I've seen 105's around and, backing up the ToyoDIY research findings above, they have all been diesels. They've also all been manual tranny.
I have a guy up in Ras Al Khor (industrial area in Dubai) who has some for sale now and then. And he exports. Would you like his number?
