    ...FJ60 heater question, "...bonk..."...

Funny, that just happened to me last night. After a thermostat replacement and a heat core flush I was ready to roll it off a cliff. My brother noticed the cable to the diverter door was unhooked. Like in Mace's pic. He hooked it up and in five minutes fixed what I'm been dealing with for days

    Carb float deteriorating. Qick fixes?

I've heard you can drill a hole in them and fill the floats up with foam insulation (great stuff)

1FZ FE into a 60, what woul be required

I dreamed of this swap last summer, even bought a wrecked fzj for it. I think the trans you need is the hf151. I gave up when I realized I was waaay over my head. It sounds like you could make it work. The cool factor would be way high. I think it would be decently quick. Good luck on what you...

Nice! Looks like suspension works well. Are ya just loving the motor? Mileage? on/off road. It looks like you can idle up anything.

    U Joint operating angle

Thanks for the info. I have been reading the drive line articles on Pirate trying to track down a vibration issue. It appears to be more complex that I first thought.

Does anyone know the operating angle of our U-joints? How about the maximum angle? Thanks

    pan gasket

I think that number is for a 2F. What I did and have done in the past is to use a little spray glue on the pan to hold the gasket in place, but not too much so I could still move it if I had to. I've thought your not supposed to use RTV with cork. I like the idea of glueing it to the block...

Thanks guys. I have it all buttoned up and the best part is no leaks.

    pan gasket

OK, a quick search confirmed my part number is correct for a 3FE. It just seems like the gasket is too tall on the curved ends if that makes any sense. My knee jerk reaction was the dealer gave me the wrong gasket. I guess I'll look at it again. BTW the part number on the bag is 12151-61011...

    Dirtgypsy goes SOA

Holy Cow! Imagine my surprise when a finally finished reading this thread. I had to post up the drive line question when I was at that part so I wouldn't forget. I had no idea what a cool turn your build would take me. You might end up with to me what is a perfect rig. As for the drive line I...

    Dirtgypsy goes SOA

Dirtgypsy, how did you know your drive shaft was binding? I mean what were the symptoms? I'm just finishing my SOA and have a new low frequency vibration. Awesome build BTW
