    That seems to have taken care of it! Reconnected, drove around for 5 miles or so, and no sound! Thanks everyone. Time for some more adventuring!

    Well it's definitely the speedometer cable! I unhooked it, drove around for a bit, and the sound is gone. Gonna lube with dry powder graphite and reconnect, hopefully that makes a difference.

    Yeah. Still on the fence about sliders, but leaning against them. I just don't think I will be doing enough hardcore off-roading to worry about it. With 33" tires and a 2.5" lift the clearance is quite good. I don't notice the tent. That being said, I only owned the truck for a few months...
