What are your new flares gonna hold on to when the rest of the fender lip rots away? I would use the $300-500 to repair the rust and forget the flares. Around here, flares are just tree magnets anyway.

They worked out well. They were even the same color. For mounting, I cut down the front Ford brackets to match the stock ones, then I hogged out the holes just enough that the bolts would go in. For the rear mounts, I cut the stock brackets off of the Toyota seats and welded them to the Ford...
Like the title says, thinking of selling the 60 to buy a local 80. I need to figure out roughly what to sell the 60 for to figure out the offset of $$$. I know they are only worth what someone is willing to pay, but heres what I have.
-'87 FJ60. 203,000+ miles. Stock 4spd.
-Silver color, paint...
I just spent an hour going through search trying to find info. I have spent about 2 months trying to track down a set of FJ62 retracting rear shoulder belts to convert over my FJ60. I have posted here in the wanted section several times, and have been PMing with some members, but to no avail...
Like you need another f'ing truck you turd:flipoff2:. Stop buying junk and move back here to the big city. I need a heated garage to work on my junk in the winter.;p

Is there a problem with your 2F/3F? You werent very specific as to why you want to swap. Unless your current motor is fragged, the most cost effective thing to do is drive it as it is. Check the board here, there are many 2Fs with 300,000+ miles on them. Mine has 217,000.
And no I am not a V8...
Its just you.
My "add ons" get used frequently. My stock bumpers were so rusty, a collision with a Yugo would have finished them off. The 33's keep my diffs out of harms way. The cut rear quarters lightend my GVW, and got rid a ton of rust. The roof rack gives me places to put my crap so I can...
Funny thing, I just sent you a PM. I know about your new FJ62 (creepy huh?)
orangefj45 was talking with me about the seatbelts and panels, then told me he sold it to you.
But yes, I do need the belts, retractors, etc. And the panels too if they will work in the 60.

I am currently tracking down the parts to install a set of FJ62 rear shoulder belts into my FJ60. A guy here on mud has a 62 that he is parting out and wants to sell the side panels that cover the retracting mechanism on the door frame. Will these work on a 60 or will they have to be modified...
That is basically the set up I have now. But my 4 year old is reaching 40 lbs and that is about the limit of those style seats. We have already installed the booster style seat in the 4Runner since it has rear shoulder belts.
I am tracking down a set of 62 retractable shoulder belts and I...
I just got a set of Hella H4 headlights from a buddy. They are pretty old, but still in decent shape.
The problem - I installed one into my '87 FJ60 so that I could compare what I thought was going to be it's amazing brilliance against my stockers. What I got was barely better than a candle...
Looks like your next prototype should be some kind of outrigger/training wheels:flipoff2:.
Just kidding, Im amazed at how other than the windows, she looks pretty solid.
Good luck finding some new glass. Glad your'e OK.

I put on 33x12.5 Firestone Destination ATs last fall. I paid $125 apeice for them. They have been absolutely fantastic tires. We got 11" of snow here last March. I cruised around my neighborhood in 2WD for s***s and giggles. I put it in 4WD and pulled a stuck cube van off of my hill so that my...
Perhaps Jim has a dick ID for his phone and he screens you out. He is busy doing what he is very good at, and has plenty of happy customers who dont blindly bag on him in a public forum.
He answered my email within 2 days, and I had my new idler pulley in 4 days after that.

My silver '87 has no hood pad, and the hood paint looks like s***. Sun or engine heat, which one I dont know for sure. Oh well, Ive been want to flat black the center section anyway. Rattle cans are way cheaper than a new pad.

Harbor Freight sells an aluminum floor jack for about $85. 3000 lb capacity. Weighs about half of what a comparable steel one weighs.

Ive got $50 into a pair of seats out of a '05 Ford Escape. I modified the front brackets to bolt in, and cut off the rear rear mounts and welded on the 60's rear brackets.
Total time- about 3 hours. Do the passenger seat first so you can get an idea of how they mount. You will end up taking...
We have a 4 year old and a newborn on the way. The 4yo is just reaching 40lbs which is the limit with my current car seat.
What are you guys using for child seats for bigger kids? We have looked a little and it seems like all of the seats for bigger kids require a shoulder belt.
So, is there...
