Be careful with the h55 standing like that. It’s no big issue, but, the shifter fork may lock on you and sometimes you have to take the top off to free it up. If you search mud you will find info on it, crushersrule identified the issue years ago.
Looks like an awesome fun project! Rock on!
I am experienced with the BJ60 series. That is not a $8000.00 truck! that, from the one rocker pic is no more than 4000 CDN, and that is too much. They are available for less than that and they will be rusty also. Buy a rusty one, yank the drivetrain and basic harness for the EDIC and glow...
My advice, Canada and Land Cruisers and minor rust do not usually belong in the same sentence!
If you are in Edmonton maybe take it to 4wheel Auto and get them to have a look. Rust can hide in the cruisers and if you are not familiar with them you may get a shock, or maybe you are lucky and the...
80 series experience the same thing, here is a cure, I did it and it ended my problem of over pressuring the tank. I put an end to my Charcoal Canister problems for good!
I did not figure out this fix, a long time contributor did!
Bring fuel filters and a spare or 2 air filter. Important items in a diesel, clean air filters keep the good MPG's and the fuel filters are needed in case of fuel contamination.

Can somebody tell me the length of the front spindle bolts? Or does somebody have 16 they want to sell me??? They are on a 6 week back order and are a slow moving item. Cruiser Dan say they are a class "D" and "F", I believe, are NLA.
Mine were rusted beyond recognition and I threw them away...
You should not use fuses in place of fusible link.....
use fusible link wire 4 gauge's smaller than the wire you want to protect...say you want to protect 14 gauge then you use a 18 gauge fusible link.
You can buy fusible link wire at most auto part stores by the foot, pretty cheap also...
Last year sometime there was a 60 body on a 80 frame for sale...did a search but no luck.
Who has done this swap...as I am thinking about it. Like the coil ride but prefer the look of the 60 over the 80. There is not much...about .5 of an inch difference in wheel base between the 2 rigs...
I put the light kit on my fj62 but it has the 3b/h55f in it..aka bj62. The ride is awsome compared to the worn factory set-up. It is higher in the as than the front. Does not bother me...NO LEAN...perfectly level from side to side.
Ride was important to me...I do take it off-road but not hard...
