    auto tranny flush cause failure

It was a machine flush. Could the pressure of a machine flush be the problem? If this is done as regular maintenance would the mileage matter?

    auto tranny flush cause failure

I still can't convince myself that it would cause any ill effects if there weren't already underlying issues with tranny. though it's helpful to see the different perspectives on the matter.

    auto tranny flush cause failure

this iswhat he told me. My guess would be flush, to fill critical components (torque conv., cooler, lines) Then drain tranny pan, change filter, replace pan, and refill with the clean fluid you just drained. I wasn't there and that is the work he told them to do. Although I definitely see the...

    auto tranny flush cause failure

He took it to a tranny shop and had it flushed on the machine, with the pan dropped and filter changed at the same time. I talked to him 1200 miles was a conservative estimate it laste about 2500 miles from the flush. I definitely think it was the first time the fluid was ever touched. I think...

    auto tranny flush cause failure

Has anyone ever heard that flushing the fluid in your high mileage (150000)A/T will cause it to fail? A friend of mine was prepping his FJ62 for sale to his brother. He heard you can/should flush the tranny to prolong the life of it like changing the oil in the motor. Well the tranny died 1200...

    another oil pan question

Yeah I know well enough to use toyo gasket. It's so frustrating that three of the last 5 or 6 timese I've replaced the gasket. Once in the front and twice in the rear. I keep crossing streams and the like, then I wind up with milkshake. Thanks for the advice.

    E-brake adjustment

Is the nut on the handle the only adjustment? It just seems to me there are too many different attachment points at the connections between the cables. I did need the cables adjusted not the handle it seems in good working order. not sure if there was a miscommunication either way will try first...

    E-brake adjustment

dashboard brake light indicator Usually it means you're low on brake fluid in a 62. Or the float switch on the resevoir cap has gone bad. One or the other. My rear brake issue is that without the drums regularly adjusted you run the risk of over exteending yhe piston in the wheel cylinder to...

    E-brake adjustment

Can someone be so kind as to tell me how to adjust the cables for my stock e-brake setup(fj62). It all looks like it's in good enough condition to work properly if adjusted. Plus it'll save me from having to keep climbing underneath and turning the adjuster over and over. Thanks in advance, Roger

That's funny when I got my S/R kit from them about a year ago no-one at MAF knew what those pieces were, where they install, or how they were included in my kit.

    cylinder head identification

I believe I have a 2f head not sure what vintage though. The only casting # I see is 2 80032 0107 215 It doesn't have the famous oil galley plug either which makes me think it's older. Any help on the date would be great! Thanks in advance.

    dizzy install question

at the moment I have the engine at the 7 degree mark, but I'm not sure it's on the comp. stroke and not 180 degrees out. That will be easy enough to find out if I'm 180 out, once I try to start it. But can I do what you described with it at the seven degree mark as opposed to tdc?

fuel level sender has no power at fuel tank

When I checked the ign. was in "on" position, but at the time I only had a simple test light so I was only able to check for a "hot" wire. Will do other processes (hope I spelled that right) tommorrow after dealing with my dist. issue.
