I think that's what to expect in an enthusiast environment though. I'm taking all of this info and processing it for myself. I owned a 2000 Toyota Camry for about 8-9 years, it took me across the country twice. I had some very minor issues, like radiator, small oil leak, etc. But nothing ever...
Everything you guys are saying makes total sense! This is all stuff I had sort of gathered watching vids / reading articles, so I’m certainly prepared for this.
my dad was a mechanic, so I’ve got at least some decent DIY knowledge. My brother also has done a ton of mechanic work, so if anything...
Yeah, definitely ready for the higher cost of running this. Thankfully there's two LC shops in Portland, so the next one I won't be so impatient and just wait on their schedule.
Considered the Tacoma and 4Runner heavily for quite some time. After test driving a few, I just found them to be a little small for me (driving, and space in the back to build a sleeping platform etc.) The land cruiser has been on my radar for 6 months because I can get a good one for a lot less...
Thanks to everyone who responded, decided I'm not going to go through with it after the PPI. So I guess I'll be hitting the classifieds and craigslist again, womp
Just trying to do my due diligence here lawrence! Gotta make absolutely sure it's not something that I should pursue after spending money on a PPI. No need to be so didactic! After seeing the report and listening to all of you I'm not going to move forward with it. Take it easy on someone who...
Haha, alright. It's attached. To be honest I'm a bit dissapointed in this report, as it mostly focuses on the cosmetics which really are the last of my concerns. No codes reported for emissions though, so that's a win?
Alright, received the inspection from Lemon squad. The only mechanical issues listed are "The engine shows active oil leaks. The engine should be pressure washed off and rechecked to verify source of the leak or all leaks."
No codes for any emissions issues reported. I assume I'd have to have...
This is very helpful. Thank you. I linked the damage in another comment thread, and it really does look all cosmetic. Maybe a deer or something? My biggest concern is the emissions stuff, because I'm not really into going to spend 2500 on fixes right after I get a truck I've been wanting for a...
This guy is a private dealer though. It's been posted for about 13 days, I went and looked at it after it was up for about 3 or 4. He had a few folks wanting to come look at it but doesn't look like any followed through.
So let’s say the emissions thing isn’t a big deal after I get my inspection results and I can talk him down to 8 or 9k, would you still pass?
There are pictures of the damage online, and it doesn’t look like it was too bad: 2000 TOYOTA LAND CRUIS -...
The guy selling it sent me these pictures, didn’t even notice that.
Do you feel like you see enough come through on Craigslist? I’ve been keeping my eye out for about 2 months and this is the only one I’ve felt was in my price range. I could probably do that range though, so I’ll kill my...
I currently live in Oregon and my fiancé and I do a whole lot of dispersed camping in our Prius. It's served us very well, but we're upgrading! We've been out too many times down a forest road and not been able to get where we wanted to go.
After considering the Tacoma and 4Runner for quite...
