I replaced my brushes on alternator with 208k miles, works great and was easy. Hardest part was pulling the alternator. Good time to replace belts with OEM.
Better yet, just dig a large hole about 3 foot deep, fill it up with Fluid film, and drive through it with the your Land Cruiser, one and done. Now go out and enjoy!
My local Toyota dealer keeps sending me postcards with graduated discounts on parts. I.E. $10 discount on first $100 spent up to $50 with $500 spent so at least they are trying. I've bought a few items that I couldn't get through the Mud vendors such as heater valve. I haven't used Partouq yet...

Can you isolate your second battery for short/daily trips, and reconnect when your going on a large trip and use a maintenance charger for the second battery occasionally?
