Hello,
Just and update for this very old post, I did describe 3 different turbos and I would say hands down the Turbo glide is the best for my application. It is still in use today for my heavy wheeling truck - BJ70 ragtop, 35" tires, cable lockers front and rear. I take this truck out...
Hello, when you go to take the two apart, unbolt the TC from the flex plate first and let the TC go with the transmission, and yes you should install the TC on the transmission, make sure it is put on correctly and that it can turn, then bolt to engine and then line up and bolt TC to flexplate...
Oh let me restate. The 1hz is not know to have heating problems when properly turbod. I have done over a dozen of these motors and have yet to have a problem. I have. Heard of problems, and it is usually when it is over turbos (to much boost or fuel) or there is an underling problem that show...
I have had quite a few 1HZ and turbo'd many of them, the 1HZ should not have overheating problems if everything is working properly, this engine is not problematic for overheating.
So you say all of the cooling is new or newer, I have seen an 80 series with a questionable size rad have heating...
Depeding on where the oil is coming from would be an indicator of what seal is having issues. If the oil is leaking around the case where the pulley meets the case then it is probably the oil seal on the case, this would make sense if the pulley is lose on the crank and is whobbiling on the...
I recently found this thread and was surprised that some are trying to figure out an alternative for this tool, it is very precise but if you are doing valve adjustment on a Toyota diesel this tool is the ticket....and yes the SST tool is still available from Toyota, just not Toyota USA (or...
The A442F is just newer so the engineering is more modern then that the A400f, if we are comparing Hydro's on both the 440 and the 442 they are close to each other just the A442 was more widely used for a longer time, far more than the A440F. With our products in them and the boxes being...
Hello,
Ok I can answer your questions here regarding the A440F and A442F transmissions. I do have a question for you and that is why do you want an A440F instead of a A442F transmission, seems strange to me but to each his own.
Here is the good news the bellhousing for the A440F and A442F...
I can tell you 100% that the TC for a A440F regardless of engine is the same physical size, only the thread size or spigot might be different. I sell these all the time :)
Cheers,
Michael
I would ask how many miles on the engine, I am assuming it is a 1HZ, if it has a lot of miles it is a good chance you have low pressure on startup in the Injector pump this would be common for a VE pump that has a problem with the Head.
Cheers,
Michael
The HJ and the 62 use the same Torque converter for the A440F, however you may find the Spigot a differnt size in the front and/or you might find one use 8mm bolts instead of 6mm bolts, you have to look at it. And BTW the New Billit TC is the ultimate if you want to get the most efficiency out...
I believe it, in fact I have seen almost the exact same thing on a 1HZ that came in from AUS. They said it was being wheeled and they laid it on it side and the with the engine still running this is what happened. I kind of believe them, who could make up a story of how it happned but the fact...
That is your blower motor for the heating and vent system in your 4X series right hand drive I see. you should not have that hole in it, that will cause you to suck up air from the engine compartment you should patch it.
Cheers,
Michael
You can tell if it a newer or older one by the tentioner on the timing belt. older ones had a normal spring, newer ones had spring imbeded in tentioner, or a gizmo type setup.
So to really answer your question you left out one of the most important peices of information what engine does it have?
1hz, 1HD-T, 1HD-FT, or newer 1HD-FTE???
The reason this makes a difference is the starters are different on the newer ones and some engines came with both 12 and 24 and...
I recently got two new winshield gaskets from Toyota (Japan) and both styles of the rubber are still available the one with the chrome and the one without. However as far as I know they have discontinued the chrome molding :(
Keep in mind that Toyota keeps raising the prices on parts and...
shameless advertisment...
