Took it in to dealer. No surprise it was the driver's side mirror actuator. Awesome part is they are replacing it on their dime since we just bought it less than a month ago. :)
Ok so apparently this is not a common thing, but is known to happen. The mirror motor, usually the driver's side one apparently, starts going bad/shorting out. Temp fix is not to adjust the mirrors. Can't tell for sure if the permanent fix is either the Mirror Computer ($360) ouch, or the...
Well it happened again. Guess I should have scrolled down further on that clublexus post. Something with the mirrors is causing it. Moved the mirror selection to the center so it doesn't auto adjust down in reverse and it didn't blow the fuse again. Weird as hell.
Oh trust me i know. I searched here, GXOR, and google. I just wasnt finding anything putting in my symptoms for some reason. When i started searching for fuse and wiring problems is when i found the club lexus post.
SOLVED!! Thanks to a thread i found on club lexus Gx470 Electrical problem - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion
ECU-B 10a fuse
And i think i realize now what happened. I went to turn off the vehicle and didnt turn it completely off before trying to turn the key to on. Im thinking this caused...
Battery isnt even a year old. I wouldnt think the vehicle would start if it was the battery. It is really strange. No dash lights, no interior light, locks dont work until the key is in and vehicle started up. Nothing on the dash at all until vehicle is on. Even the little red blinking key light...
Seriously weird thing just happened. Doors won't lock using the button on the door or the key fob. Interior lights don't come on when doors are open or even if I switch them to "on". However, once I turn the vehicle on the door locks work and the interior lights work. No codes, but the VSC and...
Not that it helps now, but this is why you go to google and type in the name of the website/company you are about to spend money with and the word "reviews".
Ok so I think I may have found the problem. My brand new 460 calipers have stuck pistons. So maybe they came crappy or maybe I ****ed up bleeding them. A rebuild is simple enough, but also I'm going to get stainless braided brake lines. It could be that I messed up the lines when I held them...
Unfortunately I did not keep any of the old stuff. At 208k miles all original suspension I didn't think there was a point. The old axles were not making noise, but the boots had been long gone. There wasn't any play in the old bearings, but they were rusty inside and I got such a good deal on...
Brand new blue pit bearings both sides. No play in them at all. I put all my strength into trying to get the wheel to move. Im 6-2, 215 pounds. Got nothing. Im going to tear into it again today. Just had to replace the cats on my 2000 4runner. Had to make sure we have at least one correctly...
I havent tried that yet. Thanks for the suggestion. I am not an expert by any means, but it isnt my first rodeo. Lol.
The axles are actually brand new oem remans from CVJ. They are highly reputable and it is pretty unlikely to be the cvs, but it very well could be. I did encounter something new...
UPDATE
Ok so i am still crossing my fingers that i have got everything sorted. The most stupidly bizarre thing occurred. The bolts on the new bearing had basically backed out and were hitting the back of the wheel studs. But, this was on the passenger side only. Which explains why it made noise...
Honestly at 160k and in the process of replacing axles I would be doing the bearings at the same time. That's my opinion though. I just don't like to go back to take basically the same things apart more often than I need to.
