Need LC Mechanical shop in Spokane...

They're not land cruiser specific, but Vandervert Automotive was my go to when I was there for school. They did the head gasket on my 97 and the rear main on my other 97.

This was last year, don't go to the Rusty Moose on the 21st! (I mean, feel free to go, but there's no meet up :D)

    July/August Cruiser meet up?

Patrick, let's get together one week from today, August 24th at 6:30pm for dinner. I'll find a place with a parking lot and send the word out to other cruiser folks offline.

Trail Tailor and NEW OPENING---- DELAY

Great area! Does this mean you're building? Deer Park is the gateway to awesome camping and exploring North of Spokane. Unbelievable that the broker dropped the ball like that!

    July/August Cruiser meet up?

Argh... I'm a ghost until mid August. If you guys plan something I'll see if I can make it but I'm so deep into exam prep that I can't even help plan anything!

    NWOL Meet Up--June 21 @ 6:30pm

Hey fellas, This is short notice but the Northwest Overland folks are meeting up tomorrow (6/21/16) at Selkirk Pizza & Tap House on North Division at 6:30pm. I didn't see the event before I took off for our trek this weekend, else I would have posted up sooner. That's all I've got for...

    Ramble & Camp--June 17-19, 2016

Quite the adventure... my old RTT lift mechanism gave me some issues so I had to rig up a sleeping platform using my camp table and a milk crate! Good times had by all, and we scouted a few choice campsites.

    Ramble & Camp--June 17-19, 2016

We're going to have two link up times, both at the Safeway in Chewelah: 6:00pm on 6/17 (Friday evening)--from there we'll head into the woods and camp, probably not too far out of town. 10:00am on 6/18 (Saturday morning)--we'll head back down, grab the Saturday folks, and head NE out of...

    Ramble & Camp--June 17-19, 2016

Hey everyone, I'm going to go drive around the woods north of Spokane and camp the weekend of 17-19 June, barring any catastrophes between now and then. I've opened the trip up to 4 participants from Northwest Overland, and wanted to post up here to see if anyone wanted to join us. The plan is...

Colville & Kaniksu Nat'l Forest Day Trip Report

After about 30 minutes of a leisurely descent out of the NF (past the USAF Survival School) I emerged onto HWY 20 north of Cusick. Just when I thought the adventure was over, I had the pleasure of spotting two moose! It was a neat way to end the trip. (another zoomed iPhone pic, but it's a...

Colville & Kaniksu Nat'l Forest Day Trip Report

After my slight detour up Little Calispell I hopped back onto my route and continued my trek North towards Saddle Mountain. The route was clear, the views were wonderful, and the road was perfect. Here's Calispell Peak (the biggun): (Sorry for the zoomed iPhone shot... I was trying to...

Colville & Kaniksu Nat'l Forest Day Trip Report

The trip North was into completely new territory for me and it was everything I wanted and more! The road climbed steadily towards Little Calispell Peak and I was excited to check the area out. I spied a 4WD trail on my older USGS quads that went directly up to the peak that I was sure would...

Colville & Kaniksu Nat'l Forest Day Trip Report

Figured I'd drop this here for future reference! I had a week to myself between graduating (and guests) and starting bar prep. I was going insane, so last Tuesday I decided to take action. The cruiser drawers stay packed with the basics, so I threw my assault pack and the gazetteer in the rig...

Northern ID/WA -- NW Passage Route

Tracking us on the GPS, I got excited as we got closer to the section that stymied us previously. At one point we passed a puddle in the road and I joked "well, that's what's left of the snowpack." Apparently it wasn't a joke... because before we knew it, we popped out to the clear cut section...

Northern ID/WA -- NW Passage Route

That was the first weekend my father was here on 4/30. A week and a half later, we headed back up the "Southern" route from the west side (we had been fishing on the Pend Oreille and wanted to see how far we were from getting over). After a few miles up the road, we came upon this guy strolling...

Northern ID/WA -- NW Passage Route

So, Day 1 of our NW Passage scouting was pretty dull. It took a lot of driving to figure out where the snow was, but I suppose that's worth it. We did stop by Priest Lake via pavement on the way back, and it did not disappoint:

Northern ID/WA -- NW Passage Route

After finding snow on the southern route we weren't too hopeful about the northern route, but we pressed back east towards pavement to investigate anyways. We stopped in Nordman, ID for a quick snack. The general store is attached to the bar, and you ring a bell to get the bartenders attention...
