I finished a improved set but planing to go do some real world testing and beat them up. Been too busy catching up on orders to have any time to play. Still interested in getting these out there though.
Thanks for the input so far!
Working on a couple prototypes for bolt on front and rear diff armor. Made out of 1/4" steel. These are good insurance pieces. Easy to install, still have access to the drain and fill plug, works with the factory drag link and sway bar.
I'm waiting on some ubolts to come in for final fit, still...
It may be the end of December or after the first of the year. I was getting behind on orders and didn't want to not make deadlines. Best thing to do is sign up for email notification so when I start accepting orders again you'll get an email.
Short answer, no.
Slightly longer answer, I had made some spacers for the regular kit. It's works but makes the tire carrier slightly not parallel with the rear of the truck. Sold several like that with no complaints.
However, I'm probably going to phase out the 100 series tire carrier...
To be completely transparent with everyone, GGM has become a project on the weekend. So, new product developments are going to be limited and product lines are going to be constricted. Lead times are also going to increase. I'm not pulling the plug on the 80 series parts yet, but it may differ...
We also tried out a new design of low profile, bolt together sliders. They took a beating, especially over the cats and didn't flinch. I honestly doubt I'll bring them into production though. They are a PITA to manufacture and there are too many configurations for different years. But they look...
I'm a little late but here are some corner armor testing pictures from Windrock GSMTR. Everything worked great. Met some awesome people and had a blast wheelin.
Had some fitment issues reported with LX models. I had no idea the tailgates are different on them. I'm working on a fix, but for now I'm going to have to say no they will not.☹️
Edit, just realized you said GX. These will not work on a GX.
I'll look into it some more. The little that I did it seemed like quite a few companies were making nice looking products for reasonable prices. But I'll dig into a little deeper and look into the options you mentioned.
Update on corner armor!
Made some rough prototypes, adjustment will be made to the production model. I'm really liking where it's going. It can work with or without the factory plastic. You could even trim the factory plastic to really increase clearance. Best part is it only adds about 20...
After running around with the second swing out, I had a realization with the design. If it was just a bit shorter, the hatch could still be opened without messing with the swing out.
So I trimmed the top and sure enough it works. Going to make adjustments to the design for this going forward.
We actually kicked around this idea. Basically a system that would bolt to the floor and have places to mount things, ratchet strap, packouts and whatever else. Just a base to secure things in the back.
I'm working on a couple different concepts for the "corner armor" all of which will work with the tire carriers already out in the world. Right now I have 3 different ideas and want to hear some of your feedback.
Idea 1: Corner armor completely replace the bumper plastic and integrates with the...
