Might be late too late on this one but I would not recommend that. Locitite is literally the root cause of any/all "nuts fell into the roof" stories that you hear about. Specifically one bolt gets removed, then the other gets twisted, and the path of least resistance is the whole nut carrier...
I'm signed up for 3D on Thursday, leading Wipeout Hill again on Friday... open at this point Saturday. Looking forward to seeing more of the 200 crew here, come track me down at vendor night if you don't see me elsewhere, I'm camping on top of the 40 trailer at the arena so should be easy to...
May be too late here, but I'm not sure I'd be in a panic going back to the dealer tbh. Are you seatbelts wet? Any wetness in the headliner? water marks? If no then shoot if it's a great truck otherwise I'd be inclined to run it. So it did one road trip with the holes exposed, and one...
@RandyDaytona thanks so much for posting up! and so glad the trip went well and you're happy with everything. also thank you and thanks to the other guys for posting up, really appreciate the feedback on the experience as well, that means a lot you guys made my day. 🥰
Geoff you are correct...
You literally have to pry it out with a screwdriver... the button is integrated with more than that latch on the wall, so pressing the button won't pop it free like with the more simple latch of the LC version.
Yes it's usually pretty even, though towards the end it will drop on the passenger side a little bit.. so fold your mirrors in, then err to the DS a little bit towards the end, you'll be good. I did this last year in a 200, with an awning on the side of the rack... never touched anything. 👍
1. Sometimes I'll take a bolt and poke it up from the bottom, through the accessory, then stack my washers onto it and slide it into the rack plate. Then squeeze them together, allow the inverted bolt to drop out, then put a bolt in from the top, while holding all of the washers in position...
The point is the new shiny truck makes folk nostalgic for the good ol days, and how they don't make them like they used to. And then they go looking for an old one, which drives up demand. Which is what happened with Broncos, and what may happen again to the 40 series. I agree the 250 will...
I'm wondering how your logic will translate to FJ40 prices, if at all. Consider the Ford Bronco Sport had to be a slap in the face to die hard early Bronco guys, right? LC250 is to Bronco Sport, as LC300 is to Bronco Badlands... at least in my head. And yet, you can't get near a nicely...
We do a mount that snaps into the 3rd row slot in the wall, then lands on top of your drawers. Allows you to mount a small item like a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, etc. Not the exact thing you were looking for, but similar solution.

This year I sold my 2008 LC and picked up a 2016 Tundra.. have been liking the switch very much, no regrets. I still use my utility trailer a ton- it's better for larger loads of lumber, hauling steel, better for delivering shipping crates to a freight terminal- all of which I do frequently...
As of this moment I'm doing free shipping on the dashboard accessory panels, have a pretty good package deal on OVS awnings, also a special package price on the 200 series bag kit.

If there's something else you were hoping to see, let me know!
Good stuff. Best way to not get a spinner is to alternate between the 2 bolts when removing, using a ratchet. Best way to screw this up is to remove one bolt completely with an impact driver, then start the next one. go ahead, ask me how I know lol.
ah man, and I was just about to tell you to search ya noob... Phone Mount - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/phone-mount.1324116/#post-15192517

That is correct, that fit is as good as it gets. This one took the longest to develop and that front edge/gap was the biggest struggle, but yes there are going to be small gaps on the edges. In most installs that's quickly covered by a radio head unit or tablet mount, but it still remains...
