So e-trailer was pretty much worthless. Their website says the TPH-021 only goes up to 2012, and they assured me that it WON'T FIT my 2015. Despite me telling me that others have installed it in later trucks.
And they had no idea what "Factory Tow Package" means, they said I needed to call me...
Thanks, I've been getting conflicting info, so this is helpful. On hold now with e-trailer.
How special is that little plate? Not trying to be cheap, but can't I just drill a hole in one of the blanks? All of my slots in the panel to the left of the steering wheel are full, so I'm gonna have to...
Bring this back up, planning to rent an RV trailer this summer at least a couple of times, and they require a controller. They can "rent" me a Bluetooth controller ($25 for each trip) that plugs into the trailer connector and you control it through a phone app, but I'm not crazy about that. I...
Hi, I'm good with the service. My only reason for the above post was I had no idea what bulbs went where in the truck. I know the original OEM incandescent bulbs were not all the same, so I was reluctant to just start plugging them in everywhere. As you know, I installed everything on Saturday...
Hmm... Collecting part numbers for a complete front-of-engine refresh, figured I'd do this since I'm doing the radiator. Checked a couple of websites and both show this part number as "This part does not fit your 2015 Land Cruiser". Ignore and order anyway?
Hoping I can get some help here, has anybody else bought this kit?
Ordered the kit, took awhile but it finally showed up (I was fine with that). It sat on my bench in the garage while I waited for warm weather. Finally opened the envelope over a week ago. It's a zip-lok baggie with a bunch of...
I had to replace the fuel door on my previous 200, it wasn't hard. Yes you have to drill off the heads of those 2 rivets, they are soft aluminum I believe. The rivets are special, not hardware store stuff, they have a soft plastic cover on them. The body shop that painted my replacement gave me...
They are in the back of the seats. They cover just the holes for the latches, not the holes in the carpet for the mounting brackets. You have them already.
I wouldn't pull on the trailer connector hole either, it will deform. Maybe tack weld a hook plate at the best spot, then come-a-long connected to the rear axle or frame.
Honestly... this is exactly what THEY wanted to happen. They'd rather keep doing the easy stuff, changing oil on Corollas and Camrys, selling tires and batteries, etc, then deal with a fussy customer with a niche vehicle that they are not familiar with. They waited you out and they won.
Mine also is stretched in length, no longer fits the hooks. I blamed it on the NHOU oiling on the hood that is still dripping out 2 years later. Doesn't seem to be the case for you though.
Geez I haven't talked to Mike in a long time, no idea what he's up to.
I had dinner with Bud back in early 2020, I was on a 3 week road trip and stopped by his shop to get some sliders and skids installed. I also have a set of his SS cat guards installed, good stuff.
Kev:
Highly recommend the Diode Dynamics "SmartTap" flasher upgrade, especially if you ever do any highway driving. Then you can also swap out your turn signal bulbs for LEDs and won't have the hyper flashing.

It may no longer be the case, but I remember asking my agent (State Farm) many years ago about this very thing and I was told that as long as you are not participating in a competitive event, you're covered.
I'm looking for the number for the squishy rubber gasket/weatherstrip piece that sits on the plastic radiator cover, just behind the front edge of the hood. For some reason mine has expanded and no longer fits in the clips, I think it's the oil from my NHOU treatment still drooling out of the...
