Great news on the grant! I would love to come and play with an excavator but my only experience with one is pointing at one when my son was young and saying "Isn't that thing awesome!". That and the one I built out of Legos:
Does this mean it won't be as arduous/metal bending as @jynx alluded to? I've 33's and sliders but no real skids.....yet. On the Christmas list but probably won't get here and/or installed by 1/1.
Hey @jynx, my apologies for missing the meeting and for not letting you know ahead of time whether I'd be there or not. I swear I'll get there some day. Hope y'all had a good time!
If only we had a place to meet, perhaps somewhere in Nolensville where they work on overland vehicles. Hmmm..... ;)
I agree that trying to get a regular thing going is hard when folks have other priorities. I'd be willing to try though.
Ha! I know for a fact that you've gotten muddy right...
I think this thread is the "club" right now. I believe folks used to meet pretty regularly but that was years ago. Definitely up for attending some regular meetings.
Not surprised about Belle Mead. However, I'd be willing to bet that 8 of those 9 have never been off pavement other than to drive...
Wouldn't mind hitting LBL again as well. Maybe we could actually get to Turkey Bay and hit the office OHV trails. If I recall correctly, it didn't take much longer than 1.5 hours to get there.
Anyone up for a day trip this Saturday (10/22)? @BLKcalibra and I were looking to hit the trails and get dirty. He has new skid plates and I have new rock sliders we haven't scratched up yet. :)
Well, seeing as how I helped you with your house, I think maybe I should have talked you into a smaller one so you could get the skids. ;) You'll be welcome to ride with me.
Hey guys (and gals), @BLKcalibra and I were chatting over the weekend about trying to get a ride or two together. I was thinking about maybe doing a day trip out to Turkey Bay ORV next weekend (9/19) and then hitting Windrock in mid to late October with a campout thrown in as well. I really want...
Hey Tennesse folks, anyone interested in a very rare Land Cruiser? Check out this listing on Facebook for a 2-door 1984 Land Cruiser 70 series with 126K miles, imported from Japan with right-hand drive in Cookeville. It looks SWEET! Wish I had a pile of "fun money" sitting around.
Welcome Ben! I'm actually just a mile or two down the road from Joel (@Tennessee80), just a bit north of Franklin proper so you have at least a couple of guys not too far from you.
I had a client in The Grove and love it down there. Beautiful area.
Welcome to Tennessee and the heat/humidity...
It would depend on the plan for me. Is the idea to go up on Friday and stay two nights or early Saturday and stay 1 night? My birthday is that Friday (6/12) so I might not be able to get away if the family has something planned. That being said, if folks want to go up Friday, I could leave early...
