I did talk to Mark but I had a broken tumbler plug & it would've cost $100~ to repair it, about what new aftermarket cylinders cost. I thought I had found a used one but that didn't happen, so I went to Toyota & bought a new one, $95 out the door w/TLCA discount. Mark was very...
I thought of that but decided I will go that route after trying everything else. New cylinders are $100~ & most locksmiths are unwilling to do anything complicated for much less, in my experience. The engaging lug on the back of my tumbler section has broken off, too.
For my 73 40. Not interested in sticky, hard to turn, or broken cylinders. I just pried one of those out of my column. Must have key. Prefer local, Bay area, NorCal area. Georg, I emailed you. Anyone else? Post a reply or PM w/contact info. Thanks
I need a set of windshield hinges, not frozen or seizing - I have a pair of those already, thanks. Also a 4 spd shift knob. PM me or reply to post. Thanks.
FJ40 4 speed rear drive line, approximately 20 inches long. I pay cash or have beaucoup things to trade, including transfer linkage, 4 speed trans or transfer, 3 & 4 spd bell housings, 3 speed drivelines, running 2F, 60 manifolds, EGR, etc. Prefer NorCal so as I can pick up but can deal with...
Cool
Drew, that's weird because I called the local dealer & asked about them. I think I may have told them 2F though, so I'll call back about a 3FE & see if I have any better luck. Rock, thanks for the info. If all else fails, I'll jam some of those brass ones in there. 14mmx1.5 works out...
What fittings did you use to plugs the air injection ports? I been trying to find the exact right ones- 14mm x 1.5 - but they don't seem to exist. I see you used NPT but what size?
Might be
Top pic looks like a High Altitude Compensation valve, and the bottom pic looks like a vacuum delay valve, an EGR valve - the large unit, & the 2 others, I can only speculate could be air switching valves. The delay, HAC & EGR valves appear to be exactly what I have on my 86 pickup.
That spirit
is what I like about the Cruiser community. It's truly anarchic in the sense of self-governing free men & babes doing what's best for the common good, because that's how we are. I'm happy to be in here!
I was in LA
& per previous arrangement, I called you Frank, to buy the head. You never returned my calls - we spoke, remember? What's your excuse for that? That makes you a flake in my book, at best. If you didn't have the s***, or sold it, all you had to do was say so & not take me on a...
In December
If you still got them in December, I'll be interested. I can't do anything until then since I'll be out of the country. PM me & I'll check with you when I get back.
Yowza!
Thanks for posting them pics. On second thought, perhaps, maybe, I better repair my tranny cover . . it would require less welding that yers! I am still needful of a 4-spd boot, though?
