    Timing belt tensioner tool

I was about 8 hours including cleaning the covers and all the red crust. I'm pretty sure I could knock at least an hour off while still removing the a/c pump and ya, 5 hours with the tool. Thats what I have heard toyota techs do the job in. I made the crank tool the day before.

    Timing belt tensioner tool

Oh ya, the a/c pump went on in less than half the time it took to take off... Like you say about the wheel well, it was much easier once I found all the bolts and figured it out.

    Timing belt tensioner tool

If it helps someone else, my advice is just buy the f'n tool! I did the pull the tensioner, put it in the vise and all that bs... Worst part of the job was to access that back tensioner bolt.

    Water pump gasket question

For the record I had a problem, thats where the pump was leaking from. The weep hole was clean.

    Water pump gasket question

Thanks, from what I read there is a difference between the silicon and FIPG. I'm thinking I'll use some blue permatex with the paper gasket.

    Water pump gasket question

I just got the water pump off my 3.4L and am contemplating what to use for a gasket... The new one came with a paper gasket but the instructions call for FIPG. What does everyone else use? I'd like to put the new one on this evening so some quick replys would be great!:beer:

Look for oil on the body of the shock, mine is at 100K miles and has the front right blown. Cruiser has 2!

Any suggestions or requests for this sub-forum?

I agree that all that info is available elsewhere, so should we just post links to other forums or should we be writing up our own threads? This forum is the place to be for Landcruiser info but not so much for 4 Runner, Taco, Tundra info. Do we want to build it to be the ultimate Toyota forum...

Any suggestions or requests for this sub-forum?

I like Mars's suggestions. What about the larger oil filters available? I have done some research and found some good info out there on the subject and have installed the larger one on my 3.4. Also steering rack bushings? Start with what Mars said though, thats a good start. Somebody has to...

    Non Toyota Tundra pads/rotors

Thanks Ian, I'll call my local dealer and parts store for some Canadian prices but that gives me a very good shopping list to start with and a ball park price.

    Non Toyota Tundra pads/rotors

Perfect timing on this thread, I am in the process of pricing all this stuff out right now for myself. Ian just to confirm the calipers bolt on using the stock hardware and brake lines? All info I have seen has involved replacing the stock brake hose with stainless braided line but I...
