Yeah, it's not a single issue for me. It's the culmination of them. Bad prices, unknowledgeable parts people, sales vultures, long wait times at parts desk, etc.
Oh well. Just gotta plan my maintenance better and order online to avoid the hassles.
Online dops rotors from 109 to 90. Another LHM dealer has them for $60 + every other online dealer. Bought both, for $150 shipped to my door. Not worth the hassle of dealing with them and much easier to just order online to my door.
I'll add the sales vultures are a bad look too. Constantly...
Won't be going back to American for parts unless it's urgent and they have stock.
Too many simple mistakes demonstrating that these new kids don't understand parts and bad prices.
Called a month ago needing an idler pulley for the 100. Kid said he found it in the schematic and ordered it for...
Mike H. was told a few weeks ago by one of the younger new guys at Alameda that they are stopping the discount very soon. Haven't been in for a while to test it out.
We saw like 10 trucks at the bottom of the hill to the lake. I was worried I wouldn't have room to turn around, so we kept moving. Plus it was getting late and we still weren't sure where we were going to setup camp.
Made it without issue. Only needed 4wd in the sand and at the mogulled spot. Everything else was tame. No need for lockers. Ended up camping just outside the reserve on forest land. Woke up to a very chilly and cloudy morning. Thankful for the heater!
Thanks for all the insight! The videos look like there's nothing to worry about, but I'm still breaking in this trailer and get nervous about it on the trails. I'll report back how it went. Im sure we'll be fine, but if not there will be an exciting trip report. Silver lining, right??
Thanks for the info! Was the mogulled out spot off camber? My trailer is definitely more tippy than the truck. I get nervous when it really starts to lean.
Hey all!
We're gearing up to head to the sand dunes this weekend. Initial plan was to find some primitive camping nearby, but I now learned you can primitive camp at designated spots on the pass.
For those of you that have done it, think a triple locked 100 with a small camper trailer can...
I initially thought maybe it just got the '06 mark without having vvti and the other '06 changes. I later confirmed it did have the vvti and we found on Lexusdriver that early on, the owner took it back to the dealer to get the sub '05 wheels with gold emblems put on and all the badges switched...
That was us. We found Taghi's killer deal on his 2006. I drove past it everyday for the past 3 months to work and always thought it was a 2003-2005 because the gold emblems and those year wheels. Turns out the original owner took it back to the dealer to get the golf emblems and 2005 wheels put...
It's pretty rare to find such an old 100 with such low mileage. Typically 98-99's are 200-300k miles and go for 7-8k in decent shape. It's semi difficult to find a sub 03 with less than 200k miles these days. Especially assuming it's rust free. Its gone now but I'd say based on the photos that...
