   I have not even a clue where to start with the gauge of metal. 20ish? Maybe? I don't have a micrometer. If you don't want to drill and tap I would deffinately use heat. Also this tool has a chance of working...

   I can help with the 3rd picture. You are missing a gas tank shield that connects to the bolt you have circled. I have mine out right now and will take a pic in the morning. Your 2nd pic has been debated before, but I don't know the outcome. HTH Dave
