Bought an 80 gal. 2 stage compressor for the garage to go with my new welder and chop saw. Almost have the garage set up to begin working on my 55. Its been so long!
Bought a 24 ft enclosed car hauler for the move to MN. Going to have to find some cheap old steel rims to put on the cruiser so it will fit inside. It's too tall with the 35" tires on it!
Modified my 4L80E Transmission so my Advanced Adapter kit to marry it to the stock T-case would work. Very unhappy with the kit so far. There is nothing advanced about it. What a crock of sh$%!!! Poorly engineered adapter. Im really not happy for the price of $630!
Haven't taken measurements yet, but I believe, and may be wrong, that this axle is the same as an early FJ 60 axle? What I was looking for is the ability to upgrade to longfield superaxles, which wasnt available with my '72 stock axles. Am I completely wrong? BTW, I'm going SOA before it ever...
Tacked in some angle iron cross braces from pillar to pillar for the impending rotisserie lift-off. Should have the body off the frame in the next day or so. Then the fun begins!!!
Have the Rotisserie about 90% complete. Just need to weld up the mounts for the hydraulic rams and paint it. Next, comes the mock fit of the Vortec and 4L80E tranny and mounts. If everything clears, the body should be off my cruiser and ready for some serious repair by next weekend!
Removed the rest of the insulation from the roof. Man was it filled with dust from years under the headliner! Anybody have any ideas on how to remove the old glue residue from the roof? Also ordered steel for the rockers and sliders. Totally pilfering Htownfires rear rocker idea!
