I have been ordering my harnesses for our in-house installs without loom and without fuse/relay panels and been adding pins/circuits in as well as extending DBW, In-cab wiring etc... Lot to ask for the typical DIYer though.
Any of the stock converters will be what you want. They are all so close that you won’t be able to tell a difference with a stock engine.
A looser converter will make the truck feel faster on the street but the sloppiness will be annoying off-road without a lot of camshaft
I will say if you stick with the stock vacuum shift, I sell a cheap pivot bracket that makes it a bolt-together deal on a 4l60. The vacuum setup already has twin-stick functionality from Toyota :meh:
this thread is getting very off the original topic, for a basic semi-budget DIY conversion I still think the basic gen 3/4l60 or Mark's kit to H42/55f is the way to go in terms of cost/ease/fitment.
Yes, if doing 6l80e you would be much better off just doing a complete Gen 4 setup vs trying running Gen3 engine/PCM alongside a standalone 6l80. That would be silly and needlessly costly and probably be worse
The difference is length (4l80e is shorter), and front driveshaft issues with the adapter. Electrically they are basically the same.
Just sell the 4l80 and get a 60e unless you are wanting to make big power. You’re going to get the ECU flashed regardless or run Holley so it doesn’t really...
Switch out the water/oil temp adapters to mine? They're less money then Marks and already in the US 🤷 I also sell a plug-in reverse light adapter. My motor mount kit works great with an NV4500 as well.

As someone who has played around with NV4500's a LOT -
Get your engine from anywhere but get your NV4500 from High-impact Gear.
All the parts between the engine and transmission are available new very inexpensively so no need to get a whole matching combo. High Impact will let you configure...
The 4l80 is a much stronger transmission but the 4l60/65/70 is a much easier swap…and are not a problem if its a fresh transmission
Also as stated the 4l60 gear spread is better suited to a land cruiser
Whatever floats your boat - I've done several with the 62 mount and drill/tapping the case without issue - it makes the whole conversion a lot easier as it also locates the motor with my motor mount kit, my 4l60 shifter bracket and linkage kits, etc)
after having been under the dash with a 90 degree drill and a step bit drilling the pedal bucket to use a GM TCC switch (me), or been under the dash struggling cutting and splicing into the original brake light wiring (also has been me), I decided to start selling these simple harnesses that...
