Yes, I had the threads pull out and the plate needed to be cut and repositioned/rewelded; you will find that a pretty common complaint.

I‘m guessing he’s using a Marks adapter; I heard the Narks are discontinued 😎

I added a trans cooler since I saw temps in excess of 240 in Death Valley a couple of years ago. Just to be clear, that was the fluid coming from the trans going to the cooler; I have a temp sensor just before the fluid enters the cooler so clearly the worst case scenario. Since I converted to...

Just recvd my Blackstone report back. Was both excited and nervous since you never quite know what to expect...... Anyway, it seems like whatever I’m doing to the LS in terms of maintenance and ‘feeding’, I’m doing it right. Relief !!!!!

Nope, LS pump straight to steering box and return.

It’s a good day when the LS lump goes into that spot !

I believe it has to be from a 92 or earlier; that’s what gives you the extra position. The FJ80, not the FZJ80, is where you find that shifter.

Firstly, I converted the trans oil cooler to AN fittings. The hard lines of the GM trans has AN fittings on it so then I ran ‘soft lines’ from the oil cooler to the hard lines.

I used a Steel Nutz unit that has been bulletproof since install and provides more than enough cooling. Not the cheapest but I’m happy I did....

I‘m going from memory here, and it’s been a while, but I believe the trick is to source AC lines and the drier from the earlier 90-92 80 series. This places the drier higher up alongside the DS battery.

Fumoto valve takes waaaaaay tooo long ! I have a funnel, set/wedged at about a 45 degree angle, that fits between the drain plug and frame rail and redirects the oil down into my catch pan. Works perfectly ! It did take one oil change of oil splashing everywhere for me to figure that out....

For the V8 swap you are contemplating, you essentially need to swap everything from the donor vehicle into your Cruiser to even attempt a CA legal swap. Everything means everything; fuel lines, fuel tank, any emissions equip on the donor needs to be on your Cruiser for a chance with a referee...

140-160 tranny temps for me about 95% of the time. I hit 195 once last year while wheeling in Death Valley. Very happy with tranny temps.....

My 6.0 LS2 runs at somewhere between 175 and 195 on most occasions. My first electric SPAL comes on automatically at 185 and the second SPAL is manually switched by the driver when ‘things start to go pear shaped’. The highest I’ve seen is 223 which was fully loaded and after climbing a steep...

Search some of the build threads from RockJock82, pretty sure in one of those build threads there is a before and after picture showing the welded shifter bracket.

My understanding is that if you use a 2wd version of the 4L65e you only have to modify the shifter plate, the tail shaft is correct for the Marks Adapter standard configuration.
