Got mine 97 FZ-F (Carby) version converted into 1HD-FT version with manual.
There are still a lot of problems as any swap.
Won the most of it, still have inoperable AC. Fuel mileage increased drastically. I have not done calculations yet but for sure it was worth as well as the power increased...
1. 1993 with dead HZ engine.
2. 2002 Mercedes Benz Common Rail CDI 320 to stock H150 trans
3. No major issues fitting the engine in the bay, used custom made adaptor plate and custom milled flywheel. Everything bolted straight on.
4. Under the heavy tests right now, wiring gauges and etc...
Just for the information, Australian company does the swaps of the 6.6 DMX into 105 and 80s
Customer Profile: Rod Lawrence Toyota Landcruiser 105 series – solid front axle | PID Diesel Engineering
I asked them how much would it cost and got answer on AUSD 52,200.00 fully buttoned up.
1HD-T, I do not know how much it costs in US, but here due to high demand they are very costly - the good one will be around of 5 thousands and higher. Plus you need (not sure) package for auto. New exhaust and etc. Which will add the cost. And you do not gain much of the torque neither power...
Interesting option for the ones who is got part time 4WD - 6th gear overdrive with 0.68 to 1 on the HI2. If it fits 70s, it should fit 80s as well. No re-gearing, no big tires, no headache to cruise on highways.

Who can give more information on Hino engines as J05C series? There is J05C-TA - according to what I have managed to dig out it is a mechanical 4.6 turbo engine. And J05C-TF which is 4.7 electronically controlled (not a Common Rail) engine.
Is there any one who can give more info on these two...
By saying that, which part of it should be expensive? If I do not buy a brand new engine with warranty for 12000? All work will be done by me, all what I need is engine and adapter (new bellhousing with clutch) I have price quote from one of the forum vendors here and I agreed to the pricing. I...
I have talked to this guy. His words, the engine had zero electrical headache or issues. Most difficulties he had were fitting it in.

I am not that pessimistic, as I have read about installing ISBe 170 into Dakota in Canada. And the guy who did it is very happy.
Question is who can make adapter? It is not the question of "IF" it is question of who, when and how much. I have read in last 8 months about hundreds of swaps and...
In europe it is widespread available and pretty cheap IVECO Tector and Eurocargos with 3.9 ISB and torque curve is sweet.

Torfab,
Another question, what do you think of ISB 170 and it's european clones? Engine is not that big to do a lot of mods to fit it. Instead just to make a new flywheel, clutch and bellhousing and should be the right engine for daily ride with good fuel economy and with enough torque for...
Here it is:

Another thing which is kind of interesting that is what they wrote in the article: Cummins designed an engine that can directly replace gasoline V-8 and V-10s engines.
It will be a...
What do you people think about these two engines as candidates for swap into LC 80?

I have seen different pics of 3.8 with oil pan turned 180 degrees. And I believe it is also option when ordering engine. With the exhaust - they have Foton Tunland we need to see how it arranged there. Could not find any yet :(
MOD - I have found picture where the oil pan is opposite way...
