ARB's front and rear and never had them fail. Chipped a rear ring and the metal got into the arb and locked it up. That's the worst that has happened with mine. I'll stick with ARB for rock crawling.

With all the mods and stuff you do I find it hard to believe you haven't upgraded to a selectable front locker.

The middle part of my DIY gear was a spare PTO gear turned down on a lathe. The machinist who cut it down for me said it was hard as hell. The welder did it all by hand without a rotating positioner. I am lucky to have access to very skilled aerospace machinists and welders and a workplace that...

Regarding your DIY McNamara. Were you pre and post heating for the welds? welding joint: did you machine a nice chamfer on them for good penetration? I had mine done at work by a professional welder and we used the kiln for pre and post heat. Never had a problem.

The FROR Tacoma adapter plates are tapped for the caliper bolts.

First off, nice job. I believe 16" wheels are all that is needed for the FROR Tundra kit (not 17's). I see that you welded on some extra meat where the caliper will bolt onto your bracket. I've been eyeing the FROR brackets in my garage and thinking about doing the same thing. What material...

Other than getting custom springs (which are $$$) I am also looking at all the airbag setups. I wonder how good the eBay bags will be and how long they will last.

I'm running a mini truck front CV in the rear of my 62 and it hasn't broken when rock crawling. Glad to know they have more range.

Define 'late model toyotas' for better driveline u joint angles. GX's are rare in the parts yards here but early 2000 tundras are a regular here.

What length bolts are required for the new TG knuckle backing plates? I guess I can do the math and back calculate off their page .125" versus stock .040".

What studs did you use in the knuckles for the spindle? And, what brand are those knuckle backing plates? The ones I got from terrain tamer have cheap plating on them and came with pit rust already on them. And.... why new spindles?

@Feistl The basic Rigid flaring tool I have is capable of stainless and the OEM steel brake lines. It takes more effort and I am confident it would do an entire truck. As matt has surmised it takes more effort and time. After using copper nickel line I feel no need to ever touch stainless...

@BMValentine I use the Rigid manual flaring tool I bought used on eBay. Prep is everything. Proper deburing and filing makes flaring copper nickel line a breeze. I have no trouble making good repeatable double flares. That being said, I wouldn't want to do an entire truck with stainless steel...
