    That is a good question about the ballast resistor and wiring. If someone has modified the wiring, they likely did not do you any favors. I would get the proper wiring diagram for your year and start there. @Coolerman has some wiring diagrams available - pretty cool!

    I seen the same from Jim C - depending on your year of distributor - cap the reatrd port and run vac advance, if so equipped.
