Hello, The Methanol injection cannot drop the IAT to the temp read at the MAF. I proved that when I had the medium flow nozzle in and even with the engine stumbling and drowning in methanol, the IAT "only" came down to 90 F on a 70 F day. If you were to put the rig on a dyno, you could...

That is great confirmation, thanks for letting me know you installed a Boost T also. Joey was very conservative with this kit. And, as he has said before, if you go beyond the original kit, it is on you, the owner, not on him. I agree that the Boost T is the way to go. I did swap to the...

Hello, I did the methanol kit to feel confident in moving the boost up to 10 PSI. I am running the 8.5 PSI springs in the wastegate and have put a Turbosmart Boost T in the boost reference for the wastegate. The Boost T is a pneumatic bleed valve that allows adjustment of the boost...

Sorry, missed this post. I did a flat plate for the bracket. Used M8 all thread from 3X M8 Rivnuts that I installed into the sheetmetal in that corner. Custom design where I installed the Rivnuts and the all thread, picked up a hole pattern on a piece of cardboard, then transferred that to...

AEM Methanol Injection Kit Install Pictures: IAT sensor in intake plenum. 3/8 NPT tapped hole. Yes, had to remove the plenum to install. AEM methanol injector in cast aluminum elbow upstream of throttle body: AEM Tank and Pump. Displaced factory windshield washer tank and attached pump...

Some numbers for you.: IAT with 8.7 PSI boost springs was upwards of 175 F going up I-80 out of Sacramento to the Sierra, in 100 degree heat last summer. At some points on the climb, in 3rd gear, the boost would settle in at 8 PSI and 70 mph with the IAT at 175F. Around town I would see 150...

I am monitoring IAT after the turbo. Originally I was monitoring in the elbow before the throttle body. Now I have my methanol injector there and the IAT is in the intake plenum, far drivers side end. Will post some numbers this evening on temps I have seen at 8.5 psi boost before and after...

Have my coolant temp sensor in the coolant elbow next to the distributor. This feeds into my 14:1 gage setup. In the summer, climbing I-80 to Tahoe, at 8.5 PSI boost, I will see temps up to 210. Around town, right now, 180. I have a newer OEM type radiator. I do have the upgraded fan...

Ha!I knew you were going to be the first to reply...... Yes, I know, all at my risk. Joey did not intend for this kit to push the stock fuel system. He has been very clear from the outset that if you take it to higher boost and start modifying things, that is all on the user. I do not...

Installed the Landtank Scaled Injector kit (higher flow WRX injectors with an oversized ID MAF) last weekend on my Wit's End turbo charged J80. Drove it all week to let the computer learn with the new injectors and MAF. Did not notice any difference in starting, acceleration, or general...

I went up to the 8.5 PSI springs for the waste gate. I do monitor all of the things you mentioned. No issues seen so far. Lambda never runs above 1 in open loop mode. In closed loop with the O2 sensors in command, it switches above/bellow 1 by .05 or so, as designed. When tipping into the...

Sweet Jesus, the stealerships want over $300 for that fuel pump. Is the Denso 951-0014 the same pump? That goes for around $200.

Sorry, I did not answer that question clearly. The clamp is under the blanket, and as another user said, that clamp was one of the hardest parts to the install. Mine "wanted" to be higher up than the opening in the downpipe blanket. If you clamp the blanket to the downpipe, I expect it would...

Sure, I will get some pictures. The sensor is mounted in the 90 degree elbow after the turbo. I drilled a hole in the outside of the turn, kind of facing the passenger side corner of the engine compartment. the hole was small enough that I could start a thread in the thin metal of the elbow...

I am running boost, AFR, coolant temp, oil temp, oil pressure, fuel pressure, voltage, and intake air temp after the turbo. I wish it could do trans temp.

Another guy mentioned it being a defective wastegate. I wonder if the valve in the wastegate is partially stuck open by some debris or is not seating properly. It would then be passing exhaust gas when it is supposed to be closed. Have you pulled it and inspected the function of the valve and...

Does anyone have recent info on where Joey is at with CARB cert? I have mine registered at my parents place, which is not covered by biannual smog. But, would like the cert long term.

When I did my install I had cleaned off the block, head, valve cover, sprayed a bunch of stuff, painted brackets, etc. On the first start, the whole engine compartment was blowing smoke. My wife came out and thought it was on fire...

See my other post, leave the v band clamps loose enough to rotate on the turbo outlet. Loosen the flange nuts also. For the compressor, that patch lock on there is multi use. You do not need to add more unless you take the bolts on and off multiple times. Mike
