Hello, This part is right. Take the chance and replace the pedal spring as well. It is another part that gets tired after 20 plus years. It is in the same neighborhood as the cable. Juan

Hello, Take the chance to install the two cable supports that bolt into the engine block. One on the left-hand side, which is used on the 1FZ-FE. The other on the right-hand side, which is used on both the 1FZ-FE and the 1HZ. Juan

Hello, Have you replaced the accelerator cable? In old age, metal fatigue deforms the cable. It cannot control the carburetor properly. You either get too much rpm or not enough rpm. And yes, maybe it is time to replace the clutch. Juan

Hello, Mine is not rusting either. However, I have seen quite a few rusted. I considered changing to the plastic piece but decided not to. It is not broken, there is no need to fix it. Juan

Hello, Before 1999, the threshold was a three-piece metallic part. It rusted badly. Chances are it was discontinued long ago. After 1999, it changed to a single plastic piece. The plastic threshold is easier to install and remove, and it fits well in older models. It does not rust. Juan

Hello, The first type seems to be used only in short wheelbase models. The second type is used on the other models. Trim and grade depend mostly on market destinations. So do equipment and accessories. They are not random at all. Juan

Hello, I checked again. I think I made a mistake. The first type seems to be used only on short wheelbase models. The second type is used on mid and long wheelbase models. I remember seeing the first type used on 78 Series but I cannot find it. Some part numbers, post 1999 from a 78...

Hello, The rear corners have drain plugs in the bottom. There are two models of rear windows. One model has a thick weatherstrip that surrounds the window frame and has a lip that fits into the body. It is easier to install/repair and it does not leak. The other model has the window frame...

Hello, This part is long discontinued. Ask me how I know. Two options: Use the 1HZ fusible link. You have one lead free for future applications. Toyotamatt / @ToyotaMatt makes replacement fusible links for the 1FZ engine. Order one from him. Juan

Hello, The charcoal canister you are looking for is 77740-60290. But chances are it is long discontinued. It might be possible to use a newer part, 77740-60410. The charcoal canister is placed on the front left side of the engine bay, next to the radiator and above the steering box. Juan

Hello, Thank you for the explanation. For a while I considered changing to auto hubs, but then I realized that unless you are in deep mud/water and you forgot to lock the hubs there is not much difference. So, I kept the manual hubs. Anything that forces the clutch is better left aside. I...

Hello, I checked the part number. Apparently, GCC spec trucks in the mid 1990s did not have manual hubs. That would explain, at least in part, the state of your front axle. 43530-60130 matches models built after 1999. 43530-60042 matches models built between 1990 and 1998. Both parts are...

Hello, Birfs, knuckles, rotors, seals, bearings... Welcome to the club. OEM birfs are good enough and well worth the price. So are rotors and knuckles. Ask me how I know. You may want to replace all the studs. You are in the neighborhood already. Take the chance and get manual hubs. The...

Hello, As mentioned above, ToyoDIY.com is a good resource for parts. Many 75 Series parts are discontinued. Check parts for a 78 Series, if you cannot find an available one. Most parts fit. Part number for a post-1999 positive terminal: 82675-60030. Part number for a post-1999 negative...

Hello, It is good your Troopy made it. You will have to install an adapter to allow the seat to move back farther. There are a couple threads on how to do it. Battery terminals are available from Toyota. When changing the negative terminal, replace the whole cable setup (battery and ground...
