Well apparent pennzoil platinum plus ultra synth is the only real full synth on the market off the shelf.
It is honestly not that much more expensive than my mob 1 “full” synth from Costco.
Did I ever post my blackstone 30k mile after 5W-30 switched report?
They said it yas the most perfect report they ever made. Yuge report. Put some of their best people on it…

Should I swap to Pennzoil or don’t bother?
We definitely all hear a collective smoothing of the engine. Its not placebo!
I also noticed it builds pressure way better. And doesnt over pressure. I used to see before the switch the pressure gauge wouldn’t ever really budge past the lower quarter mark, even at WOT overtaking on freeway...
Personally dont think 0W is worth it when spec even calls for 10W. I think 5W is perfect middle ground and I wouldn’t worry about cold start at any climate with that really. Not in any non extreme climate like siberia or iceland or laplands or something.
Ive been seeing some stuff on tik tok...
Whenever i pull the fill cap, i find one quarter of the inbuilt gasket has crud deposits. This is because of the coarse threading obviously not seating flat, but i guess do yall see the same thing?
I just clean it off and i tighten by hand, its tight to the point that I struggle to remove it...
Will be switching soon to penzoil ultra plat soon as i run out of my dirt cheap costco mobil 1 5-30 “full synth”. From some of what ive learned, full synths are not fully synthetic ever since some major lawsuit years and years ago with mobil 1. (Tik tok ftw)
Will stick to 5w-30 until i move...
Austin, just changed to 5w30 at a local friends shop. All of the s***ty ticking and rough rumbling idle is gone. Engine is smooth now.
Oil pressure actually responds under load unlike the anemic 0w20 where flooring the car barely raised it a tick. I cant imagine that was good for the car.
5w30...
