Fram oil filters have always been rated one of the worst of the big name brand filters....
They use a cardboard main element and currently have a bunch of lawsuits pending against them....

Only downside I see is if the filter doesn't have an anti-drainback valve and is in a position where the oil will drian back into the motor, then it will take a little longer for the oil to get flowing during initial startups....
However, I don't think this will be much of an issue at all...

Isn't there a filter available for the 80 with an anti-drainback valve?
I always used a larger truck filter for my T/A that had an anti-db valve (even though it didn't need it since the LS1 filter is already upside down)
