Hi Gang,
Picking up the hardware from the dealer today- thanks a million to all for the help!
A bit of a sad day- running boards going on, downsizing from 285/75R16 back to the original Michelins 275/70R16- but my 8-week-old son & his momma are worth it :D
(Gotta make that climb in with...
You guys rock!!
I have a terrific Ace Hardware location close to me, and Klaus if you can reply in a few days with the exact specs of what I need I'd be extremely grateful!
Extremely helpful! Any chance of you or someone else knowing the sizes of the hardware (bolt grade, size, etc.?)
Going to have to run to the Auto Parts store or Home Depot since I, quite stupidly, didn't keep the original hardware when I took the boards off a few years back
Hi All:
Need some real-time help re. re-installing the running boards (ONLY doing it because my lady needs them to make it easier climbing in & out putting the baby in the carseat...they'll come off as soon as Jr is older, LOL)
Thought I kept the hardware but can't find it :mad...
FWIW, I went from stock 275/70 Michelins to E-rated 285/75 Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2 ATs and did not see a mileage decrease at all...
I think the less revs per mile with the taller tire probably offset the heavier nature of it...
Hope you don't really feel that way my friend...remember on these forums, you are essentially looking at a very very vocal minority...plenty of 2000 owners out there, mostly never heard from, that have been problem-free.
Once owned a 1990 4x4 Cherokee...after I bought it, all I heard was "oh...
Welcome to the wonderful world of knowing your transmission temperature!!
I love mine; I usually select trans temp, voltage, eng temp, and mph as my 'daily' gauges but love to play around with the others on occasion.
Very, very happy with the Revo IIs after almost a year & 15k miles; even being E-rated, the ride is terrific (38psi), they have zero issues & track perfectly straight going 90mph+ on long freeway stretches.
They handled a winter trip to Montana, where my brother-in-law lives on a mountain...
Yes, they (larger sidewalls/tires) do have a bit of a negative consequence on acceleration and things like 0-60 times but...
I went from 275/70R16 stock (in the US) Michelin LTX tires to E-rated (heavier) 285/75R16 (32.8") Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2 ATs and my mpg did not suffer at all...
My experience is that chips/programmers are great for tuning diesels and a LOT less effective with gasoline engines...
I had an Edge programmer for an 02 F250 with the 7.3L V8 turbodiesel and it was like dropping in a different motor; to the best of my knowledge no one makes anything that is...
I went from stock Michelin LTX 275/70s to Revo II's 285/75 E-rated back in May and would do it again in a heartbeat! No lift yet, probably get around to that later in the year; no rubbing, even at full articulation off-road.
FWIW, the E-rated Revos had no issues in heavy Montana snows on my...
I'm running Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2 E-rated ATs right now but I've had multiple sets of Michelin LTX in the past and they are the perfect tire for on road comfort/all weather traction.
Probably would still have them but I live in AZ now & have plenty of rocky trails nearby to justify a tough...
Yeah I was very happy getting 13+mpg in those conditions; funny, back in May when I get the E-rated 285s I expected a fairly significant mpg loss but astonishingly that hasn't happened at all.
If I can get ~13ish going 80mph+ with people, luggage, dogs, and gear, I'll settle for that & never...
May 2011 be a great year for ourselves & our Cruisers!
May your tranny not fail, may your expensive NAV system keep working, may your pinstriping be minimal, may your wife let you buy your desired upgrades..
Good luck to all!!
Just posted a few snowy pics from my brother-in-law's cabin in NW Montana and thought I'd give a brief report on my 3000 mile round trip, Phoenix to Montana, from last week
Cruiser performance: flawless but for one tail light bulb! A-TRAC got a workout coming up (and I mean up) his gnarly...
more Montana
3 more of the Cruiser enjoying some snow...
Drove 3000 miles in 8 days...Phoenix to NW Montana & back. LC performed flawlessly, A-TRAC got a workout coming up his driveway, got to use my heated seats, loved every second of it!!!
