I am looking for the tow package for the LX 450. Hoping some one has pulled it off the wheeler and has it sitting around. Please advise...

Be certain to check the coolant for motor oil. Smell the cars when hot, if you smell coolant than investigate. Check record to see if the PHH (Pesky Heater Hose) has been done or not.
Best of luck on it, everyone tells me these rigs will go 300k without major issues. I bought a 97 LX 450...
I would use a solution of Isothiazoline as it will not harm the interior and is a better spectrum killer than bleach. If you need a few oz's for the job let me know and I will send you some. You can put it in a spray bottle and mist the mold then wipe it off in the next day or so. In...

Ok, looked it up and will need the seal kit. How do I know if I need to replace the units? The truck has 130,000k on it and I do not know its history other than a lady was driving it in California. So do not think she has seen much off road action.
Silcone Hose
I used the silcone hose with the green outter and red inner. Used the lined clamps and costant torque clamps. Found the hose to be very hard to put on as it seemed a little smaller than the hose I replaced by lets say 1/8". No leaks for me at all and all has been good. I even...
On the user, but think of the other people on the road. Before you go high fiving down the road with a heavy camper, most often than not your tow kills the other guy in the on coming lane. This means that they sue the pants off you when it was your decision to use a non tow rated reciever. In...
Noticed a leaking of fluids at the pass side hub. Placed new grease in the hub and checked the front diff for fluids. Down by a quart and thinking need to replace the inner oil seat to axle housing. You all thing that it is it? I have not been off roading or in high water so makes no sense...
It looks like Cruiserdan is offering a good solution to the oil. I would replace the PHH as it is original with that clamp on it. With a castiron block and alum head it does not take long to warp when hot. My cruizer is sitting in pieces as the head gets heat straitened and a new valve job.
I had the same issue and replaced the rear rotors. That was not the problem, I found a lot of micro bubles in the brake lines. Did an massive blead out with the infamous 1 man vacuum tool and found that it does not work well. You need two for the job to get the air out. Now that it is out...
As I have the head out and replacing the PHH and other hoses, noted the hoses for the trans cooling. When should you think about changing these as they are below the intake and would be very hard when the engine is back together. Any ideas on that?
Man do these rigs have a lot of...
I thought about leaving the intake in place, but was following the service manual. When assembling the head is it best to palce the head on and then attache the intake after that, as the manual has you put the intake on first then place them as a set on the head?
Great to hear all is ok, my wife is the reason I am back in a Landcruizer. We had a 1999 Volvo V70 that we were rearended by a 1977 Suburban on the gas accelerating through 55 mph. Off set hit in the back with wife and 1 mo old son beside her. Totaled the Volvo and Suburban, all walked away...
Thank you all for the info on the head gasket for the LX 450. As it turns out the oil leak was from the back of the head and white crystals were at the seam under the intake.
Above all this was the biggest pain to get done. It has taken 13 hours to get the head off. I have all the tools...
