Really nice. Would like to see more of your cargo space set up. Running a single 3rd row with the 2nd row removed? I was thinking of doing something similar for trips with my 6 year old.
So did the truck start after you installed the old distributor and got it to sit right? I may have the same issue as you...
I had my truck die on me, and my old distributor tested bad. Dropped a new one in, and still no start. Tried new coil, ignitor as well.
The new distributor was a beast to...
It is brand new! Aftermarket, but new.
I did install the distributor myself, with some help. We pulled a plug, cranked engine to TDC, and aligned/dropped in the distributor according to the FSM, at which point the rotor was pointing to the #1 contact when installed. Cranking the engine with the...
Yes, I realized that it is only related to fuel delivery last night. You don't sound like a jerk--more like a reasonable guy I would say ;)
So outside of the distributor, coil, and igniter, is there anything that I can check that would cause no spark? Is it possible for the ignition switch to...
On to that tomorrow! Thanks for giving me something to do :D
I'll test that! Where is this relay found, is it in the same black box where the EFI main is? Found the procedure in my FSM, but I could not find this diagram. Can you tell me what page/section you found it on? Thanks for shooting a...
I checked all of the wires headed to the ECU:
From Distributor: NE, G, G- all good
From Igniter: IGF, IGT- all good
All my wiring and fuses look good. I am at the point where swapping out the ECU seems like the last thing to do. Is there any way to know if the ECU is at fault, other than...
This is where I am going to look tomorrow. I am going to disconnect and closely inspect all wires relating to ignition, tracing them back to the ECU, particularly the NE/G terminals (from the distributor). I suspect something just got toasted after these 24 years :D
Fuel pump is getting power. Didn't check exact fuel pressure, but I can feel pressure build up in the fuel return hose.
I am getting a lit test lamp at the power source for the ignition coil, both with ignition on and when cranking. The coil is new. The high-tension cord from the coil is also...
Hello,
Pulled out of the driveway the other day, and made it 100 yards before the engine cut off and would not start again. Checked the codes, got "No NE/G signal". Was getting no spark, so I followed the " EFI woe and strife" troubleshooter I have seen on here. Found that one of the...
I should have started this thread after running a full tank or two. But it really is noticeable. I am suspicious of what could cause something like this, because this engine is designed for crap fuel. I am wondering if, hypothetically, a vacuum leak, advanced/retarded timing, or emissions...
Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I have stock timing on the 3-FE, 31" all-terrains properly inflated, no extra weight, stock height. I took a long trip a while back (~1,000 miles total), and ran premium fuel the whole time just to clean out injectors etc. I got about 14 mpg over the course of the...
Thanks a bunch. I used to work at Lowe's, so what should be a 5-minute shopping trip will probably turn into a half-hour reunion :)
When you installed them, did the studs on the shocks fit pretty snugly through the mounting holes on the truck? My only concern would be that it looks like the OEM...
So are you guys going without any of the specialty centering washers, and just going with all old-school flat washers? I bought a set of OEM shocks and was disappointed to find I needed that $$$ hardware, so they've been sitting on a shelf while I ponder what to do. I'd be happy to be another...
Change your PCV valve and grommet, if you haven't already. Changed mine a week ago, and no more rough start. Stopping, the engine still seems to diesel slightly, but it's a lot smoother.
Tuning up all of the vacuum odds and ends on this engine (per jonheld's excellent and appreciated info) has...
