It was answered, master and slave cylinder fitment. Tuning issues as well.
Just not as plug and play as a 4l60ish tranny. Which can be had new with a few upgrades for around $1500 if you don't get a complete drive train package.
Easy, if you can get them apart. I spent two days messing with mine and one would not seal. Pistons are about $20 ea. $80 per side if it needs all four.
You will have to get 16" wheels or grind the calipers to fit.
Looks like a lot of the logging roads around here.
4L and D for that, not like you are needing to go faster than 25 anyway.
I disconnected the range sensor at the t-case so that when I go to 4L it stays AWD, no need for 4WD on that. As stated it just makes the steering heavier than it needs...
A rolled rig does not necessarily mean the engine is toast. It's just one thing to consider.
Just about any used engine can be a crap shoot.
While swapping an engine isn't really a big deal, no one like to do a job over again.
I usualy get carried away with used engines and end up tearing...
Careful of rolled rigs, a running engine that has had the oil pick up sucking air is not good for any kind of life expectancy.
I get sent to the body shop to drop rods and mains on rolled rigs and see if it was starved for oil.
More than a few have had to have the engine removed and a new/used...
Looks like a $1500 rig to me. I'd offer $1000.
I would bet the cost to get it up to speed is gonna be close to 5K
From the looks of it I would bet maintenance was low on the priority list.
You may find one from an MR2 or another rig of this vintage that will work.

Nothing to take apart and clean. It's sealed inside.
Wheels chocked, engine running and in drive.
Hold set and turn on the CC, 2 flashes
Resume, 3 flashes.
Cruise lamp should be on.
1. Brake, lamp out.
2. Cancel, lamp out.
3, E-brake, lamp out.
