Holley sniper fuel injection with the 2 barrel setup? Self learning and I think there’s a company that sells the whole package deal with distributor and everything you need. For a little extra cheese they sell the adapter to use the original air cleaner.
Ok you’re right they are 5.5” rims. For some reason I was thinking they were 8”. I remember @GA Architect had his stock steelies widened to 8” I think. It almost seems crazy to think they’re only 5.5” wide. My tires are 33 10.50/15’s for sure though.
Yep, I have a 3 hole garage with two 7’ doors and a 8’ door. It will fit under my 7’ but, I would have to roll my door back as far as it would go. It fits under the 8’ with my roof racks and surfboards on top. So needless to say I always put her in the big hole when I get home.
Tires are 33/1150 r15’s BFG KM2’s. The wheels are just stock steelies 15x8’s that I had powder coated, but I can’t remember the RAL color code and I have a 4” lift. It rides nice but will have a fair amount of body roll with the tall and skinny tires. Not that any of us are out trying to rally...
Those are definitely swampers. I was debating on getting those or the BFG KM2’s. The BFG’s did it for me. But swampers are sweet and I don’t put a lot of miles in my 40 so they would last a while.
It was actually new from My local Toyota dealer where my dad used to work. I threw his name out and got it for $150 instead of $200. I’ve also seen on here where guys have had good luck with Napa in finding remanned aisin pumps.
Yep, you guy’s are right on the money. I pulled the pump and the gasket was mated to the block pretty good. So I pulled the back plate off and put fipg Between the plate gasket and pump but not the backing plate. Then I put some between the block gasket and the pump but not the block. Filled it...
Ok thanks guys, I haven’t tried that yet. I just used some Toyota fipg sealer between the pump and gasket surfaces and I’ll let it cure tonight and try again tomorrow. I’ve made my own gaskets the past 2 times and they seem to hold up better than the others.
I’ve installed this water pump 3 times; once without any rtv sealer and once with it on both sides of the gasket and copper coating and the last time without any treatments at all. Every time it has leaked from the same spot; the bottom bolt. At this point I’m at a loss for what to try next...
Hey @ErikinSC and @CharlestonG8R , I think I might be able to make it up this year. I hope @Kayaker can make it. I saw @cruiserjunktion and Andy from @Voodoocruisers at a cars and coffee In December and we made it over to see @MacDaddyRabbit before he sold his beige 83. I hope to see y’all up there.
I had the same issue with my 76. I have a 4” with 33’s and stock steelies and mini-truck steering as well. I rebuilt my center link when I noticed a little slop and also rebuilt my drag-link end where the pitman arm goes in. I also tightened my steering box a little and put a set of 4degree...
