Well the time has come for Hank the Tank to find a new home. As the kiddos have grown we now find ourselves needing more space for them and more separation for us and Hank is just not getting as much time out on the roads as either of us would like.
The short version of the story is that my...
I know this is certainly a strange question but I appreciate the feedback.
Honestly, I think of all the cool things that I could do with $50k. Trailer... camper for the Tundra,,, lockers for both... new paint for the LC. But then again there is also that whole the wife wants what the wife...
My wife has made it clear that she wants a new (to us) vehicle. She drives a 2001 LC as her daily doing the normal... work, kids, groceries! And then for fun camping, exploring sierras and high desert, and just overall a lot of fun.
At first she said new so we looked at Highlander and Sienna...
Man that is stretching the memory... but thanks to Amazon I can tell you it was 8 ft. 7 would have done it if memory serves... but it is cheaper to by 8!
Lining the drawer makes a huge difference when they are not completely full. I ended up adding some partitions (one in quarters the other...
That is a terrible idea... but one that I am currently toying with. The addition of another kiddo has made it difficult to pack everything in the Cruiser. BUT it is probably not going to happen... I want a hiker trailer... and wife loves her LC!
My personal recommendation would be to set a budget and then spend every penny of that on the best condition LC or LX that you can find! There are small differences but at the end of the day it is a top tier vehicle and as long as it has not been abused and is maintained even reasonably well...
01 LC with full Dissent treatment and lift is Wife’s daily with the kids. She does about 80 miles a day so definitely not the cheapest option, but we both feel that it is the safest with the kiddos! I drive a Tundra every day so we obviously are not concerned about fuel economy... ::rofl:
Yes that was pretty crazy. We were looking forward to coming back this year with my sone being a little older and a new baby sister in tow.... luckily we have backup plans!
Hope everyone has lots of fun and hopefully we will be able to get in next year!!

I believe he posted not long ago about a new job that was taking up a bit more of his time. Dave has a,ways had a bit of a lead time but it is well worth the wait!
On iPad I wish that the panel on the right was not there when looking at thread listing in landscape mode. It is wasted space but in portrait mode it disappears ... but I hate using my tablet like that.... maybe this will make me learn something new!
@512LX It seems like you have this figured out so maybe you should source and provide a kit? I am sure that there is a demand for this, but it just may not be great enough for a company like Trail Tailor to lock up their resouces in.
I think that Jason is being very reasonable in his...
How does this option compare to the Tundra manual antenna? I have the Tundra setup and was going to install soon but is this is a better option or might fit better... well then....
@Ayune i think that you have nailed it on the head. Garage door holder vs. Homelink seems to be the confusion. I was staring at the Garage Door Opener holder on my 2001 LC trying to figure out how it could be different... and as you have confirmed it is not! That is awesome and I definitely...
Is there any way that an insert can made to fit a garage door version? I always assumed that the whole “module” just popped out. Can you give us an idea why it won’t work and maybe if there is a way that @Ayune could modify? I doubt I am the only one interested.
