Under what conditions should the vsv open up the vent line from the charcoal filter to the manifold vacuum? Mine is a deamogged April 77’ 40. Gas tank is getting pressurized like crazy. I can easily draw air (fumes) by sucking on the line. It’s clear. The VSV is just not opening it up...
I'm theoretically dropping the pan for the first time in 44 years. Not real excited about the job based on my reading on mud but the drips are driving me nuts. Any suggestions on anything else that I should do while the pan is off? anything thats made easier while its out of the way?
I acquired a set of 16” rims and new tires and was fired up by the new ride and options opened up by the 16’s. Nice guy gave me a great deal.

July 1977 FJ40. Second owner. Just received my 40 and I’m confused. My coolant reservoir has a cap that has the port to receive a return line or expansion line but there’s nothing hooked up to it. Am I missing the line or do I have the wrong cap and this is a closed system? Thanks!
I bought a 1970 FJ40 body/frame that is in great shape but the PO rhino lined the entire body. I'd like to leave the coating on the underside/frame/bed but remove the liner from the "outside" so as to paint.
Anyone have a suggestion on how to remove the liner myself? If not, any good recs...
