Bump
I actually snapped the top of one of my bolts because I overtightened as well. Anyone know a source of supply? I do live in Hawaii and the odds of finding them on island are slim.
I went there first. They told me that they’re just regular bolts and would be better off finding them in town. It’s a small town and no surprise, I didn’t find them.. I found some OEM online that I ordered. Thanks for the help
I’ve got a 91 landcruiser and am in the middle of putting my engine back in after a trip to the machine shop. I’m having trouble finding replacement torque converter bolts (I lost mine when I pulled the motor) and have no idea where to find them. I’m in Hawaii so that makes things difficult...
Anyone know where I can procure torque converter bolts for my 80? In the process of putting a reconditioned engine back in and have seemed to misplace a few bolts. Must be able to ship to Hawaii...
Aloha
Figured I’d go to the 3FE folk on this one..
I’m currently in the middle of a motor rebuild so with the engine out, I also wanted to delete the rear heater (amongst many other things). All of the threads I’m reading seem to to be for FZJ’s and I’m not sure if it’s the same. I live in Hawaii so...
Right on thanks for the replies. I'll probably keep it, just wasn't sure what exactly it did. I live in a hot area so cooling is worth the real estate.
In the process of a rebuild on my 91 and want to rid the vehicle of some non-essentials. As the title says? FSM diagrams kind of cut off at the silencer.. any help is appreciated.
Aloha
Going to go pick it up Tuesday and I'll post up some pics! Gotta go catch a monster ahi tomorrow so the motor will have to wait a day. I need to get an engine stand anyway. Thanks for the info everyone!!
This is awesome advice thanks. I'm going to buy it anyways because I'm on an island and I want my cruiser to last. I hadn't put as much thought into the tranny. Damn...
Definitely! I'll start a write up and update regularly. Yep, water pump was on the list, didn't think about oil pump but I want to redo everything I can. Even if it takes a bit..
Nothing is wrong with the motor out of the 91, just has 250K+ miles on it. I had planned on a rebuild as soon as a work project finished, but about a week before, the cruiser overheated and I had it towed home. I just started taking it all apart and getting ready to take the 3FE in to the...
I'm thinking the same. He listed for $400. I'm not sure how much these run but I was already prepped to pay the shop much more to bring my old one back to life.
So the plan is to pull the engine from my 91 Fj80 and have it serviced as far as my budget would allow. Im just about ready to haul out the engine to take it in to the machine shop for servicing, probably early next week, when I see a 3fe for sale locally. This thing only has around 100k and is...
