I finally got completely fed up with those folks who cut up an FJ40 body and claim by such butchery to convert the 40 into an FJ45

Probably did not make myself too popular, but felt like someone needs to stop this...
Please Stop Lying
I am probably not going to make myself popular with this post, but I feel an obligation to request some honesty.
Webster defines a lie as "a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive. I am tired of folks cutting up or bobbing an FJ40 and then calling it an FJ45...
Did you bleed them properly?? Dustin Webster's method seems to work the best and has solved problems similar to yours for many individuals. See the RedBullJeep posts in this thread (especially post #13):

Also note that "playing" with CNC...
Nobody has said much about the downside, so I will:D
The "centering pin" in the spring pack is offset for a reason -- with the short side of the spring facing the transfer case (on the "drive side" of the axle) axle wrap is reduced. If you flip the springs front to rear, you will experience...
Steering stops or rock are irrelevant to the point I was trying to make. I was responding to the fundamental mistake that you made with this statement:
That statement is really only true when the box is in the neutral position. If the box is not in the neutral position and the steering wheel...
Wrong on both statements, IMO
Here is an example of what can happen when "you cant turn the wheel cuz a big rock is limiting the movement and cant turn it any more therefore not giving the ram any more fluid from the box that is not being turned anymore" This is a WTOR box driven by a...
If you look at the yellow boxed area in the pic below you can seen that I had to trim the rear of the AA mount just a bit to make room for the manifold.
I'm also not a fan of headers and much prefer OEM manifolds. Here is my LQ4 with LS6 (Corvette) manifolds. They stick out only 2.75" from the side of the head and the center of the output flange is 5" from the side of the block.
Bought my first FJ40 off the showroom floor in March of 1970. Drove that beauty for 18 years, including three trips from Seattle to New Haven and back  After that rig fell apart I upgraded to a 1978 model. I had the '78 until last year. Now I am left with a '65 and a '67 FJ45. 41 years...
Glad to finally see some hard core rigs in this thread:lol::lol::lol:
Me......I just wheel in an old farm truck and try to keep the manure from falling out when I roll.
Just to make a correction......It was stated that Land Cruiser fuel caps are not vented. That is only true for models after, I believe, 1971 when they introduced the fuel separator system. From 1962 to 1970 the gas tanks vented through the filler neck and a vented gas cap.
Lots of misinformation so far in this thread. The different numbers quoted probably represent the different ways to measure the length of a leaf spring pack. We need a convention and the most reasonable one (IMO) is that used in Rob Mullen's FAQ (above in the Tech Section). Using the specs...
It should fit any standard 2" receiver. The only thing that might be of potential concern is the diameter of the cross pin, but that is easy to change.
I will PM you on the shipping costs. It is all aluminum, so the weight is really minimal
The treasures just keep mounting...........
Two early-style (vented) gas tanks for sale. $20 each. SOLD These came out of my '67 and '65 FJ45s. They were high-desert trucks and the tanks have zero rust.
Two early-style (i.e., passenger side) FJ40 swing-out tire carriers. SOLD One is...
