Thats a big scoop. Here is mine and I am very happy with it. I wonder what he has done to the motor to need that? Maybe a bigger blower than I have! :D
With the compound curve on the glass I don't think it is possible to replicate the windows from glass without costing a fortune. And all but impossible to get the holes in the original tempered glass so they would work. But, if you do I would be willing to pay a good amount for a set too. Maybe...
The windows work well and the seal seems OK. I did however take a couple of extra steps during my install to assure a water tight fit. First of all I used a bedding compound to attach the window frames to the truck. The instructions say to just use the two sided tape on the frames and then the...
I would just pay someone to remove the fixed glass panels. It was not something I would do again. Expect to pay from 50 to 100 bucks for that. Here is a couple of pics from the inside as several people have asked me to post.
A template was provided as well as a detailed set of instructions and a video is available also on Youtube. Very easy to install and very little tools needed.
I am starting to get paranoid myself. I am just under 100k and had the same transmission issue as you mentioned. That was last week and luckily it was replaced under warranty. And then today this..... Loud bang and then that nice clean differential fluid started to pour. Oh, what a feeling.....
I'm not too worried about the material. I am more concerned about the seal. I have used Plexi for other applications and with good materials and proper care it can last longer than my rig will. Besides my dog and back seat passengers couldn't care less if they could even see out of it. :D
The TRD SC gives you a good amount of extra power and torque and with the additional URD pulley it works great without any special programming. All that for less than 5K. If you want even more (not needed in my opinion) you can go with the URD kit but be prepared to spend 9k with all the goodies...
My rig came stock with 265/75/15 BFG A/T's and and I think that is one of the best tires for that rig. I was able to get over 50k miles and they still had tread left when I replaced them with 285/75/16 KM2's. The mud terrain tires wore much faster and I will be going back to the A/T's shortly...
I replace all the clips when reassembling any panel or skirt on my rig. They use many different types and I too had a problem getting them back on or keeping them on before replacing them.
Well it looks like I will be ordering the heavy version and I will just have them powder coated because I'm lazy. I really like the look and fit of these.
